Alone one night, and messed up on the drugs
He took his life, and left behind all the hugs
It wasn’t from the lack of love which caused his life to end
But in his life’s reality, there was no cause for him to pretend
The people he left behind, their lives went on in pain
But honestly there was no one you could blame
Fingers pointed at the one they accused helped him to his doom
But he was unaware of what went on inside the room
Tragedy and loss pulled apart this family
Trust was torn apart and where was love to be
Alone he walked away, there was nothing he could do
I’m sure you’d feel the same, if it had happened to you
But really was it the loss, that caused this family to fall
It was the trust she lost in him, that was the blame for all!
What went on in their son’s room, he was unaware
If he had known, the life would have been spared
The woman and her loved ones, turned away from him
Dark clouds came out, he walked a world so dim
With a loss you need the love and support
Not an end to everything, which caused it to abort
He walks this world, yet he knows he’s not to blame
The family that he had, will never be the same
Yet he has the love he needs, to help him through each day
And an Angel by his side whispers, “Dad, I’m okay”
This is for a good friend of mine who has endured and lived the loss written in this poem. It could have been anyone this had happened to. Things go on everyday that we are unaware of, and we are unable to stop from happening. If we had the knowledge and the power, we would stop what we could. What we need is understanding, hope, appreciation, and love for what we do know and understand.
