You Learn

You Learn

© by Bud Lemire on April 5, 2026

Through each experience, you learn

Something new, at every turn

It may be a struggle, at times it will be

But you'll catch on to it, eventually

Take your time, go at your own pace

Do your best, you're not in a race

Let your mind soak up, whatever it will

To enter the spaces, so it can fill

Learning is fun, if it's a gradual thing

You'll be surprised, just what it'll bring

I learn a little bit, in every year

From others I know, those I hold dear

They learned from me, from what I know

With knowledge so bright, it was a rainbow

Some things are harder, to take in

Go slowly, or your head will spin

I've learned from each person, who's been in my life

The friends, the family, who have lessened my strife

The experience you have, with a job so you can earn

Will guide you through life, because of what you learn

Life is the greatest teacher, it teaches us, and molds us into

who we become. Sometimes it takes several times to catch

on to what it is showing us to be. Other times we catch on

quickly. No matter how long it takes, it is there for us to learn.

We grow into better people from what we learn.

Check The Ingredients

Check The Ingredients

© by Bud Lemire on April 8, 2026

Check the ingredients, it just might be

Something that could, possibly hurt me

Stomach issues, or an allergic reaction too

Something you didn't realize, or never knew

They're adding more stuff, to all that we use

You have to keep up, on the latest buyer news

I personally don't pay attention, but I really should

Someday it'll affect me, I'm sure that it would

We have to keep track, of what's in what we buy

Some of it could be the cause, of why some of us die

It's not only, in the foods that we eat

It could be something, we put on our feet

Or our faces, our arms, or our body each day

It could be a cream, a gel, or even a spray

It might be something, in the shampoo for our hair

Some added ingredient, that really shouldn't be there

A pan that you use, could be dangerous too

Made of something toxic, you never knew

All I am saying is, Be Aware

I'm not trying to give you a scare

Just try your very best, to be on the ball

Do I dare even tell you, about when they recall

Please be aware of ingredients and how they can affect you.

They recall foods and usually give the numbers. So watch

for them as well. You never know what we are treating our

bodies too, and it could be one reason you aren't feeling the

best. So be careful.

The Purse

The Purse

© by Bud Lemire on April 1, 2026

It was time, to get rid of some stuff

Because, really, I had more than enough

It was a purse, I had no need of anyway

So I put it on the “Give Away” table, just today

The nice manager of the building, came to me

Asked if I put a purse, on the table which is free

I said “Yes, it was me, not long ago I did”

She told me, someone found the money, which was hid

She came to the office, with the fifty five

Saying, it was the best day to be alive

Return this money, to the previous owner if you can

I think it's only fair, it's returned to their hand

So the woman in charge, asked around

And the previous owner, was found

The fifty five dollars was returned, and it was great

The previous owner of the purse, sure did appreciate

She wrote out a card, thankful for the return

Because it is something, that many don't learn

She brought it to the one, who returned it all

Being the right thing to do, she heard the call

I can imagine, the hearts were touched on this day

When you do the right thing, it always feels that way

This was not my story, and it didn't happen at the Harbor Tower.

But it could have. Yet it is a very true story. When people care

enough to do the right thing. It feels great to everyone who is

involved. They all do their part.

Through Every Season

Through Every Season

©by Bud Lemire on March 27, 2026

Hoping that you, get through every season

I'll explain exactly, what is my reason

Variants of every virus, are circulating yearly

If you leave this world, I'll miss you dearly

So here's to sending, the very best

Please try to get, some much needed rest

Eat healthy, and please drink a lot

Water, juices, or whatever you've got

Stay hydrated, so you can stay alive

What I'm saying, well, it's no jive

If your body, happens to tell you to rest

Don't resist it, if you know what's best

Stay at home, if you're feeling sick

Don't pass it around, don't be a hick

You might need, something at the store

Just think, if you do, you'll be spreading it more

Know the right thing to do, when you're ill

Or those with no immune system, you will kill

Be cautious, be wise, and do what is right

So you and others, won't cause a blight

Remember, being sick is staying at home. Not

going out and spreading it around. Do not

be selfish, only thinking of yourself. Think of

others and what you could be giving them.

Something their immune system may not

be able to handle. Take care. Be wise.

Elsa The Blizzard

Elsa The Blizzard

© by Bud Lemire on March 19, 2026

We had just got some snow, just two days before

When the weather man warned us, we couldn't ignore

A bad winter storm, was coming and heading our way

Elsa dropped, over thirty three inches of snow ending on Sunday

What a weekend it was, with all of that snowing

Elsa was strong, there was drifting and blowing

Vehicles that wouldn't stay put, got stuck in the snow

This blizzard had many of us, having nowhere to go

It had schools closed, for at least a week

While plows got rid of snow, this was our new peak

Years ago, we had snow that was high

Now we have tons of, snow on supply

What do we do, with all of this snow

Where do we put it, where will it go

When Spring comes, water levels will rise

Our Lake Michigan, will become larger in size

Is this the new normal, for winter each year

We'll just have to wait, to what it'll bring us here

Until then, Spring is on its way

I'm looking forward, to a Summer day

Blizzard Elsa gave Escanaba 33.5 inches of snow, and

with all the drifts, some places were much higher.

Some say it was the worst we've seen since 1978.

Others say it was further back that was worst.

All I know is, it was bad, as I watched out my

window, and occupied my time doing other things.

No War

No War

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 28, 2026

In this day and age, we don't need any war

We've come too far, it's not what we're living for

We don't need, a bully as a leader

Who happens to be, a misguided ringleader

Don't need no war

That's not what life is for

Don't need any more of his shit

He's just a whimsical nitwit

Don't need no war

Don't need him any more

America is slacking

He'll keep on attacking

He does as he pleases

He's one of the diseases

He's into every head

Of those that he lead

Brainwashed and fed

The ignorance he spread

Where will it stop

Enough of his slop

When will it end

He's nobody's friend

Degrading anyone, different than him

Making more lives, seem pretty dim

Wake up America, don't let him have control

Before this is over, we'll all be in a hole

America, we love you. We hate what he is

doing to you. Someday, he will pay for all

this. When he does, we can all celebrate.

Light Bringer

Light Bringer

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 25, 2026

As life slips through my finger

I try my best to make it linger

People told me I'm not much of a singer

Still I sing, but I was more of a Light Bringer

I bring light, to those who can't get out

I shine on those, who still live in doubt

I had my own struggles along the way

It never stopped me from making their day

Each one of us carry, a light inside of us

It comes out when we need it, you just have to trust

When we do something that feels right, it's there

It's felt the strongest, when we truly care

The light we have, comes from the soul

The more we use it, the more we feel whole

It's a large part, of what makes us who we are

People will see us, as a brightly shining star

It's a gift, that was given to us since birth

It was even there , before we came to Earth

Believe in this gift, believe in this light

It will guide you on this journey, into everything right

This light we carry inside us, guides us through our life.

It shows us right from wrong, and shows us what to do,

and what not to do. You can feel it, even when sometimes

you may think it is gone. It never leaves you. It will always

be a part of you. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.

It's used when you give freely of yourself. You will feel it

when it's needed most, and you will know, the good it does.

Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter

© by Bud Lemire on February 24, 2026

Old Man Winter, has returned

Asking us all, what have we learned?

Was it too nice?”

Without much ice”

I just took a long break”

Did you miss me, by the Lake?”

I've returned again, and let me say”

The Winter you remember, is here today”

Hope you haven't forgotten me”

This year will be colder, with all you see”

I'll bring temperatures way down low”

Then raise them up, and let it snow”

I'll blow the wind, from North To East”

From South to West, will be increased”

Shiver your timbers, it's a Winter Blast”

Only until Spring, will it ever last”

So put on your Long Johns, and your Beaver hat”

Lay down by the fireplace, on your bearskin mat”

Stay warm inside, If that's what you must do”

Or you could be staying, inside an igloo”

Up North, they always welcome me here”

Every day, at this time of the year”

This year has been a cold one. Old Man Winter is back.

I remember the days when I was younger, snow got pretty deep.

I remember it almost was up to my chin. I'm sure some of you will

remember those days. We've had it pretty easy these last few years.

Chat 2026

Chat 2026

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 11, 2026

Hello, how are you today? It's great to meet you”

Yes, I'm much older than you, what is it you do?”

No, I don't invest in Crypto Currency, or gold”

That is for richer, younger people, I've been told”

Oh you are from Asia, or the Ukraine?”

It's great to meet you, did you say you were Jane?”

I'm Bud from Michigan, a name that isn't too hard”

No, sorry, but I won't buy you an Apple Gift card”

You say you're looking for love?”

It's not at all what I was thinking of”

I'm just looking for a friend”

When will the scams end?”

You're Sandra Bullock?! I talked to twenty of you!”

Yes, and each one claims to be the one who is true”

Twenty of you, you all can't be the real star”

Yet still I wonder, who you really are”

I'm not really looking for love, I'm happy alone”

You see, I'm set in my ways, and happy on my own”

I hope you find someone, who's compatible with you”

The first step in that, is to be honest and to be true”

Let the true you flow out”

Leave no room for any doubt”

I chat with many people, and so many are deceiving.

Either that or they expect you to be like them.

Scammers, looking for love, looking for a rich partner.

All I wanted was a friend. Years ago, I could find friends

in chat. These days, it's very hard to find anyone like that.

I Ask My Cousin

I Ask My Cousin

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 25, 2026

I ask my Cousin, she knows all about it

She's researched it well, and has some great wit

I usually don't research, unless it's something I like

Like genealogy, or what looks great on my bike

She knows things, with business, life, and more

I'm lucky to remember, what to get at the store

She likes to be informed, and up to date

I try to be on time, just so I'm not late

I ask my Cousin, what's happening out there

She has her sources, and she's quite aware

For me, I just wonder, inside my mind

Always something happening, is what I find

Hey Cousin, what do you know

Have you looked out, to see a rainbow

She tends to pick up, on all the news

Me, I'm uninformed, but that's what I choose

There's enough to know out there, but what is true

Too much fake news all over, so what can I do

My Cousin lives it, she knows the truth is happening when it does

I always ask my Cousin, she knows what is and what was

My Cousin would be the first to tell you that she doesn't know

everything. One thing for sure, she likes to keep up on the

latest news and what is happening locally and in the world.

Many times it effects us in so many ways. She keeps me

posted on the important things that effect me as well.

Thank you Cousin, for the answers I don't look for myself.

Freeze Me!

Freeze Me!

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 25, 2026

Freeze me! It's so damn cold

Either that, or I'm getting old

Below Zero temps, old winter is here

Need something warm, to cover my ear

I'll put on my beaver hat today

Not going to freeze, it's not my way

I'll bundle up tight, if I go out

Not going to freeze, but I may shout

In below zero temps, I'll stay at home

A warm apartment, and I'll be alone

I'll work on a project, I have plenty to do

Getting things done, is what helps me through

Don't go outside, if you don't have to be

Stay inside, be warm, be just like me

Don't expose your skin, to the frigid cold air

Wait for the summer, then you can bare

Visions of me on a warm summer day, on my bicycle

While I stare out the window, at a hanging icicle

A car drives by, and starts to slide

Freeze me! I'm not going outside

Don't go outside and freeze, if you don't have to

These below temperatures are nasty.

Stay inside and stay warm.

In The New Year

In The New Year

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2025

In the New Year, I wish for normality

All the things, that mean the most to me

Everyone treated as equal, no one is above

All the hate banished, and a lot more love

No force, no enemies, friends working together

All the special moments, that we can treasure

No pointing fingers, with revenge, at those who disagree

Nobody should be a prisoner, in the land of the free

Nobody should ever, in this world, be abused

It's not the human way, for anyone to be used

In this country, we need so much more respect

To add to that, we need to have less neglect

Freedom should always ring true, in this country we live in

I believe 2026, is a great place for better things to begin

Liars, cheaters, the rich, and those who have the power to do

Should never be the ones, to ever undermine you

Adults should never, sexually abuse anyone

That should never be, anyone's idea of fun

This has got to stop, and I mean right away!

This isn't the USA, when all colors turn to gray

In the New Year, let's bring back normality

This year it wasn't, the way it should ever be

There's so much more to add to this, but I will end it here.

I want the America back, the one I know and love.

We the people, must bring it back.

The House Of Ludington

The House Of Ludington

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 11, 2025

The House Of Ludington, has been around as long as I can remember

From the beginning of January, all the way to the end of December

Out my window, at sunset and sunrise

It always seems to catch my eyes

Rumors have it, that Pat Hayes still haunts the place

I haven't been there much, so I haven't followed the case

They say that Al Capone, stayed there before

Using tunnels to come and go, but I prefer using the door

I've only been in there once or twice

From the outside, I think it looks really nice

I passed it, every time I was on my way to the park

Taking pictures of it from the dock, at sunset, before it got dark

It's been a part of Escanaba, a part of everything I know

Lately in evenings, the House Band put on quite a show

I found out recently, they took the sign down

Reminiscing about the history, I wear a frown

On the day of the fire, I wasn't around to see

Several others, took pictures and videos for me

It's been a big part of Escanaba's history

Now it's burnt, and I wonder what will come to be

Too many fires around Escanaba, the last couple years

Too many losses, that are causing way too many tears

They say, when one thing ends, new beginnings start.

At the end of one era, another era starts.

From the ashes, rises something much better.

One can only hope, this is how it will be.

Can it get any worse? Dare I ask it?

I'm hoping that things have got to get better.

Let the music play on.

Alfalfa Sprouts

Alfalfa Sprouts

© Oct 16, 2025 by Bud Lemire

Give me some Alfalfa Sprouts, that taste so great

On a sandwich, don't need to make me wait

Alfalfa Sprouts, thick as can be

The best way, to have them for me

They go good on salads, and so much more

I need to get some soon, at the store

My cousin puts them on almost everything

Don't get the radish ones, unless you want a sting

I like mine, on a turkey sandwich at noon

My mouth is watering, I need some real soon

They add a good crunch, to every bite

If you saw my sandwich, oh what a sight

Alfalfa Sprouts, on two slices of pumpernickel bread

A heavenly taste to behold, now I know I'm not dead

Been eating them on sandwiches, for as long as I can remember

Every month of the year, from January all the way to December

I'm not a horse, and I'm certainly not a cow

They taste so good, and I really mean Wow!

If you see them at the store, give them a try

How come I enjoy them? You'll find out why

They have a good taste. Don't take my word,

try them yourself, and see if you like them.

America Once More

America Once More

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 7, 2025

I'm thinking of the America of yesterday

Times when everyone had something good to say

When everyone was treated equal, as it should be

In this great land, home of the brave and the free

There was no revenge taking place

There wasn't any fear on every face

We knew what tomorrow would bring

These days, it could be almost anything

Take down the banners and flags with the ugly mug

Raise the American Flag, and even give it a hug

Let the Lady Liberty stand tall and proud

Banish from this country, that dark shroud

Let the sun shine on this great country, the USA

With all this darkness all over here, let's do away

Bring back the United States of America of yesterday

When the Presidents, used common sense in every way

Bring back this country, that was friends with everyone

Not this twisted evil, that some maniac had spun

We want a country, where the President is someone we look up to

Not a wanna be king, that should be behind bars in a zoo

Let's hold hands and stand together in this fight

To bring the United States of America, into a new light

One that'll shine even brighter than before

What's happening now, we don't want anymore

If you still believe in the President, I have a suggestion.

Time to see your psychiatrist. Do it very soon!

Love Isn't Imagining

Love Isn't Imagining

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 4, 2025

Love isn't imagining who they could be, it's about knowing who they really are

* * * *

So many times we imagine the perfect mate

We get all excited, and it's so hard to wait

As our lives move along and intertwine

We find out their greatness, isn't so fine

Other times, they're great in ways we never could have imagined them to be

Once we get to know the real them, It's the real love that we'll see

Love is a journey, between two hearts that beat

When the soul know it's true, and there's no defeat

Souls are of the spirit, the highest level you will ever know

It lives within each of us, and goes wherever we go

Your sexual organs are aroused, but believe me when I say

The soul knows when it's real, and it will never go away

Listen to your heart and soul, listen to all you find

Find out who they really are, instead of imagining with your mind

This year I learned a very big lesson. I forgot to listen with my heart and soul and let my mind imagine what love could be.

I won't go into detail, but let's just say that someone that loves me very

much from the Spirit world was there to see me learn a very hard

lesson. Why? Because she loves me so very much, on the highest soul level.

I thank her every day for her love, as she watches over me.

Butt Call

Butt Call

© by Bud Lemire on July 24, 2025

I never made a Butt Call, many people think it's alright

Mine is in my side pocket, and it's on the charger at night

Some tend to make those calls, all of the time

They must move around, while they sit on their behind

So, what if your phone was in your pocket near your chest

Could it be a call, that comes directly from your breast?

If you're a woman, and you carry a purse

You won't have, the “Butt Call” curse

You can shut off your phone for awhile

Then you won't worry, your Butt won't dial

It's better to, find a better place for your phone

That way, the Butt Calls will be left alone

I put my phone, in my left side pocket

My phone opens apps, while my feet walk it

I'll hear a voice, as I'm walking along

Sometimes it'll be, some commercial song

I've seen some really nice Butts, and wouldn't mind a call

If it's by accident, I'd rather you didn't call at all

I'd rather not get a call from someone who is snooty

A Butt Call is nice, but then there's a call called the Booty

Seeing people with phones next to their Butts, makes me wonder.

Do they sit on them? Do they remember to take them out,

before they sit down.

A Butt Call, also known as a pocket dial, is an unintentional phone call made when a cell phone is in a pocket or bag and accidentally activates the call function. This typically happens when the phone's buttons or touchscreen are pressed by body movement or other objects, causing the phone to dial a number without the user's knowledge.

The meaning of Booty Call is a communication (such as a phone call or text message) by which a person arranges a sexual encounter with someone.

Caught In The Hayes

Caught In The Hayes

© by Bud Lemire on July 11, 2025

Caught in the Hayes, of what's right and what's wrong

I've been held on a leash, they just pulled me along

I thought it was love, but I knew that couldn't be

Each one of those forty Sarahs, wanted money from me

Oh yes, I carried on and I was a fool, and I gave in

As time went on I resisted, but I still couldn't win

I guess I was dreaming, of a future to come

What I proved to myself was, I was so dumb

Those women out there, just wanted my money

For that price, it was easy for them to be my honey

The funny videos with the southern accent, that I always see

Were just there to lure me in, and take my money from me

Don't be scammed like I was, try to be wise

It's not love they want, behind all those lies

They want to drain, your bank account dry

Once they do that, it will be their turn to fly

If there's forty Sarah Hayes messaging you, with the same face

They aren't from alternate worlds, something's out of place

Hold onto your money, and don't you let go

This is a warning, something that you should know

Yes, I was a fool. But I learned something as well.

It's a cruel world out there on the internet. Behind

the screen, is a world built on lies and greed and

people want to take advantage of those who believe

them. So as you read this, and if you are looking for

love, remember, it is not love if they ask for money.

To me, love is given freely. Love is earned and it

takes time as it grows stronger and stronger.

They Aren't What They Seem

They Aren't What They Seem

© by Bud Lemire on July 6, 2025

They aren't what they seem

I've been living a dream

They pretend to be something more

Yet, they're less than before

They'll suck you into their scam

And they don't give a damn

Yet, who are they really

To make you look silly

I didn't know, they were playing along

I felt so gullible, I was so wrong

I always thought, there was good in everyone

I was deceived, because there was none

What was I looking for?

A friend in chat, nothing more

How can it be

That it happened to me

The people online, know how to scam

I found myself, and I know who I am

Don't hold them close, if you have a dream

You'll find out, they aren't what they seem

It was a long hard lesson, but I learned.

I am still alive, and can carry on. Just

a warning to anyone reading this. Please

be careful. There are so many scammers

out there. If they ask for money, they are

not a friend. Because you can't see them,

you don't know who they are. They can

hide behind a picture that's not them.

Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency

© by Bud Lemire on July 3, 2025

What is Cryptocurrency, I'd really like to know

So many younger people invest, but where will it go

Do you know what it is, and how it works?

The downside of it, and of all the perks?

First you need a wallet, your money goes in that

Then you need a dashboard, so you know where you're at

You can invest in many different things

Bitcoin is one, profit is what it brings

You can invest $300 one day, and watch your profit grow

Two days later, it can be $1,000, you just never know

Sometimes you can lose money, just so you're aware

You can have an account, that you might like to share

People seem to think, it could be a scam

Others walk away, they don't give a damn

The people with more money, tend to be the ones who invest

While the ones who won't do that, don't think it's for the best

You can make up your own mind on what it's all about

You can dance with joy at the profits, or just sit and pout

If you're online and should wonder more, the latest generation knows

The place to invest in Cryptocurrency, and how the profit goes

I wrote this because I kept running into people, who tended to be younger,

and they were into Cryptocurrency investing. I didn't understand what

that was all about. So I did some researching on it, and met some

people who were into it. They share with me how it all works.

I know a little more about it, but it's a big world that is still

very cryptic to me.
