Out
Of The Blue (Part 2)
by Bud Lemire on Feb 24,
2003
The tea was
good and piping hot, and it was Earl Grey
Warming up
the kind stranger, as he thought of what to say
They needed
answers, of how he got from there to here
So they could
bring him back, and things would become clear
Then he
noticed their computer, on the other side of the room
A television
screen and typewriter, together, oh what he could assume
They asked
him if he had one, he replied "yes, one of each"
The husband
and wife puzzled, at the response of his speech
They asked
him where he lived, so they could take him there
He looked
around, and then got up from his chair
I guess I
should be going, he thanked them for their hospitality
They told him
not yet, the storm in the window, they still could see
He told them
he worried for his cows, he had left outside
And said he
was a farmer, with an added tone of pride
Surely in
this kind of weather, their milk is likely froze
Why there
might even be, icicles between their toes
The caring
couple, reassured him all would be okay
And that
there was nothing, that he could do today
He bowed his
head, and clasped his hands to pray
And wondered
just how long, this snow storm was going to stay
The couple
also wondered, what they were going to do
When this
kindly bearded stranger, showed up Out Of The Blue
