One
Year Ago Today
by Bud Lemire on Aug 2,

It was one
year ago today, I left the place that I knew so well
From Michigan
to Washington, to be with the woman who in love I fell
On a
Greyhound bus, I took in the scenes along the way
I've come to
love this new place, and call it home today
In a city,
half the size of the one that I once knew
With country
surroundings, of green mountains and sky of blue
Within the
first year, I've seen so many places
Met so many
people, took in all new faces
Explored
everything, about this new life
With a witty
daughter, and a wonderful wife
Living with a
new Mom, and a new Dad
Who are also
wonderful, I must really add
I found a job
as Nurse's Aide, and that fits me fine
Which makes
me feel complete, with a peace of mind
Every day I'm
loving my wife, more and more and more
Than I ever
thought, I could ever love a woman before
I'm learning,
and I'm growing
I'm teaching,
all things I'm knowing
I'm doing
things, I never thought I'd ever do
And Wanda my
love, it's all because of you
You never
stopped believing in me, I love you so much
I'm blessed
with the best, to always feel her touch
It was one
year ago today, I left the place that I knew so well
From Michigan
to Washington, to be with the woman who in love I fell
