Remember
The Times
by Bud Lemire on Sept 1,
2004
I remember
the times, when there was no aching
And it
wouldn't be me, that you'd be waking
Life was so
easy, we each gave so much
Those were
the days, when we loved to touch
We raised a
beautiful family, you and I
Seems like
those times, quickly passed by
All of my
free time, is taken on you
Doing the
best, it's the best I can do
You're not at
fault, for it's the human destiny
The body is
frail, in all life that you see
I've given
you, the best years of my life
And tried my
best, to be a good wife
I'd give
anything, to take some of your pain
At the cost
of it, driving us each insane
As my body
ages, it's harder for me
To be a wife
and caregiver, and do it properly
It sure would
be nice, to turn back the clock
And go hand
in hand, with you for a walk
I remember
the walk of life, we took together
Two people so
giving, living without this pressure
This is the other part
of the other poem YEARS THAT PASSED.
This is from the Wife &
Caregiver's point of view.
