She
Dances With Spirits
by Bud Lemire on Dec 12,

She's half
between wake, and half between sleep
But you
should see the company she keeps
She hears and
sees the spirits who have passed
Sitting in
her bed, and the time goes so fast
They come to
her while she's in her bed
One familiar
name and up pops her head
They get her
attention and she sits up straight
She listens
real closely, she patiently waits
She glimpses
a shirt or name here and there
They seem to
show up from everywhere
Something
they said resonates to her mind
She takes
what she learns, leaving all else behind
She hears the
music and it is beyond words
The colors
all swirl like a rainbow of birds
Why all at
once do they come?
Where are
they all coming from?
The spirits
become vivid, voices become loud
Yet some are
whispering, way back in the crowd
She picks up
what she can from each
And learns
from the lessons that they can teach
She nods her
head and closes her eyes
She Dances
With Spirits, in her bed where she lies
