Things
With Wings
by Bud Lemire on June 25,

It’s
everyday that I see things with wings
Birds and
butterflies, all the pretty things
Dragonflies,
and the bumblebees
Planes flying
overhead, is what one sees
Bugs with
wings of every size
That fly
right into my eyes
Causing me to
be temporarily blind
Things with
wings is what I find
Butterflies,
so colorful are their wings
And the
birds, and the songs they sing
Spread their
wings, and see them fly
Gliding
above, so low, so high
I once saw
something, I never saw before
A blackbird
chasing a butterfly, and more
Two
hummingbirds in a mating dance
So amazing to
see, if you get the chance
Our airborne
friends are nice to see
And other
creatures too, mean the world to me
What would
we do without them here
