And He
Danced
by Bud Lemire on Sept 24,
2006
I first met
him at the High school, he was a teacher there
At the time
there was an issue, of the length of his hair
But inside
there lived a soul of a very special man
Who danced
the dance of life well, within his lifespan
He was my
Journalism teacher, back in Nineteen Seventy Eight
I found him
to have a very uplifting trait
If you were
to look at him, you probably wouldn’t see
The kindness
in a person, that only he could be
While riding
my bike down Lake Shore Drive, I’d always pass his yard
He’d be out
there doing something, working very hard
Some days I’d
stop by, just to say hello
I told him
how I knew him, so that he would know
He said I
looked familiar, yet he couldn’t say
I explained
who I was, as I always pass this way
We had a
wonderful conversation, and then when it would end
He’d thank
me for stopping, he treated me like a friend
I heard
through word of mouth, while running in a race
His spirit
left his body, to enter the Heavenly place
I know he’ll
be welcomed there, he was a special man
While we will
feel his loss, upon this Earthly land
It was an
honor to have known this very special soul
He will
always be remembered, this man we love and know
This is in honor of
Collen Doug Fix who passed away today while competing in a running
race.
We all shall miss you
my friend, but we know you are at peace and in a better place.
