A Golden
Ring
by Bud Lemire on Dec 28,

I didn’t
have a band of gold
Yet I knew
I’d love her while I grew old
It was
something beyond, it was something within
It connected
us as deeply, as a wedding ring
Maybe we
didn’t take a vow, to honor our love so true
Yet there was
something strongly felt, something that we knew
Somehow there
was a ring, that linked her soul to mine
A love to
treasure like gold, keeping us together ‘til the end of time
We didn’t
have to marry, there was nothing we had to write
It was the
purest love, that celebrated each others light
Heaven joined
us together, it was chosen at the start
For the
lessons we would learn, would greatly effect our heart
Two hearts
far apart, two souls together as one
Completing
life’s cycle, when the day is done
Teaching,
learning, sharing so very much
And feeling
the love, in each others touch
Maybe it’s
better to have a golden ring
Something to
honor a special thing
A link to
each other, a love which is strong
A Golden
Ring, merging each others song
The Golden Ring of the
soul is a wondrous thing,
it connects one to
another
