She's up in
the morning, for her early morning walk
When we come
into contact, we stop to talk
She walks to
the Downtowner, for a cup of coffee
On her way,
she observes all she sees
She takes
note of the weather, and birds all around
And tells of
the sighting, and where they were found
She knows of
the beauty, of a Winter's snowfall
She takes in
the beauty, and shares with us all
She's up on
the current events and politics, she has her view
She was
raised in Lower Michigan, that's where she grew
Her children
grew up to be successful in life
She gave her
all as a Mother and wife
I like to
listen to all she has to say
Her views on
this world, she has a special way
She always
tells it, like it is on her mind
An
intelligent woman, well mannered and kind
She sits in
the lobby, in the afternoon
Much other
times, she is up in her room
A dear
friend, that I've come to know
Evelyn's a
good woman, and a good soul
This one is for Evelyn Burkhart.
May the days ahead bring you sunshine, comfort, and peace.
Evelyn left the Tower
to return to her roots in Lower Michigan,
and be closer to
family. We miss her at the Tower, but will
remember her for the
wonderful woman she was while
she was here. Thank
you Evelyn!
