Out On The
Island
By Bud Lemire on July 13,

Out on the
island is where I love to be
On a warm
summer day I can let my spirit roam free
Listen to the
birds as they fly from tree to tree
While the
butterflies fly in circles all around me
The
dragonflies are dancing in the air
Seagulls fly
overhead when I am there
The Brown
Thrasher searches for food in the grass
He watches me
cautiously as I walk pass
The Yellow
Warbler sings a song nearby
I focus in on
where he is with my eye
He comes a
little closer in curiosity
While my
camera zooms in to capture him in the tree
A Kingfisher
snacks on a fish that he just caught
Reminds me of
the last fish that I bought
It tasted so
good, I know how he feels
To have one
of those tasty fish meals
I see a
sandpiper on a rock as I walk along the shore
And a
sailboat on the horizon, who could ask for more
The sun
shining down in a certain spot
And swimmers
in the water, because it sure is hot
Out on the
island is where I love to be
My soul is
much happier when it's flowing free
No worries at
all, I can just be me
Caught up in
the moment with everything I see
Out on
Aronson Island is where I love to be. Birds, butterflies, &
dragonflies. Frogs! It's just a beautiful place to spend time at.
I've been going out there since I was able to walk and even though I
miss my childhood days and how they had it before...they did a great
job of fixing it up and maintaining it to the way it looks today. I
try not to miss a day without going out there to see my friends of
nature.
