Overcoming
The Odds
By Bud Lemire on Oct 12,

She overcame the odds of a painful past
One that she hoped, would never last
Abused so often, she carried the scar
But her journey in life, would take her far
To a love, that was filled with harmful drugs
To life anew, her life turned to hugs
A baby girl, gave her a new outlook
Which started a new chapter, in her book
Then a husband, who snuffed her belief
Which caused love to die, and so much grief
Her nerves went crazy, her emotions wild
But she kept on going, for the love of her child
It was so tense, in their home
She often found comfort, in being alone
But then she felt something, never felt before
A love so strong, she had to have more
For someone loved her, for all she could be
And overcoming the odds, lead her to her destiny
One that she hoped, would never last
Abused so often, she carried the scar
But her journey in life, would take her far
To a love, that was filled with harmful drugs
To life anew, her life turned to hugs
A baby girl, gave her a new outlook
Which started a new chapter, in her book
Then a husband, who snuffed her belief
Which caused love to die, and so much grief
Her nerves went crazy, her emotions wild
But she kept on going, for the love of her child
It was so tense, in their home
She often found comfort, in being alone
But then she felt something, never felt before
A love so strong, she had to have more
For someone loved her, for all she could be
And overcoming the odds, lead her to her destiny
