The Window To The Lake

The Window To The Lake

by Bud Lemire on May 30, 2004

There’s a window to the lake

Where there’s a view that I take

The life of nature, that’s found there

A scene rewarding, when I stare

Canadian geese and the red winged blackbird

And many others, from what I heard

The squirrels playing, in the grass

Chipmunks look in at me, as they go pass

The sun is shining, down upon this scene

Of sailboats in the distance, and grass so green

The seagulls fly in, to this place

So many creatures, make it their base

The branches of the tree hang low

And gives this view an inner glow

A beautiful scene is what I see

When looking out the window before me

I took care of Matt Smith.   Arlene was his wife.

They had a really nice view out back. That

is what inspired me to write this poem.
