Basil

Basil my dear
friend, for so many years
You've been
so much comfort, through all my tears
With a
forward flip, people stopped to stare
Oh the
memories, of all that we did share
Rehearsing
The Barnacle, with a salt shaker tip
A home made
tequila sunrise, raised to your lip
Moron Man and
Idiot Boy, teamed up back then
Your creative
imagination, when we would pretend
The music
we'd share, the tunes we liked to play
Many of those
bands, I still listen to today
I can still
recall, our graduation night
Not long
after that, our life took flight
Together we'd
be, until you went with the force
My life lead
to care giving, a far different course
To Germany,
to England, and Italy you'd go
Sending me
tapes, on news that helped you grow
Marriage to
Laurie, came down the road
While I took
to chat-rooms, as my life flowed
When my Mom
passed, you did something really great
Driving my
brother to the wake, we'll always appreciate
My life lead
me, to where I am today
But the times
we shared, are just a memory away
You'll always
remain, a rare and special friend
I hope you
always know, with these words that I send
To a
friend who has been there for me for many years, Basil Barcome.
Thank you
so very much for being a special friend through the years
