GERMAN
Family Reunion

Labor
Day Weekend, in 2003
GERMAN
Family Reunion, relatives to see
Travelers
from many miles away
A
hotel with a swimming pool, is where we'd stay
The
weather was hotter, further south
Cold
drinks, to refresh a dry mouth
A
dinner out, at an all you can eat Buffet
One
couple ate already, so they couldn't stay
It
was Sunday, almost time for the Reunion to start
But
there were already, relatives at the Park
No
pressure for water balloons, we called on Aunt Tody for help
She
helped us at her house, tie them herself
Back
at the park, Wanda was on the Mic
And
told us all, what the day would be like
GERMAN
brothers and sisters, were all around
Tody,
Ray, Loren, Pat, Bobbie, and Gary...all could be found
Then
there was a toss of the water balloon
And
an orange ribbon pull, of a plastic spoon
Two
older members, of an earlier generation of the GERMAN Family
Irene
and Howard, were judges, of the art craft Jamboree
That
showed each family's personality
I
added a poem, written by me
Then
we took pictures, of each family of the family tree
Some
were missing, because they left too early
We
packed up, and called it a day
We
waved goodbye, and then drove away
It
was so hot, in the pool we played ball
Everyone
was in, and I do mean all
Pizza
and visits with cousins, before we said goodnight
It
wasn't long before, it was time to turn off the light
It was my wife at the
time, Wanda's German Family Reunion
in around Redding area.
Her Dad Ray's side of the family.
It was an interesting
and enjoyable trip to California to
take part in it.
