Piecemeal

Every day that goes by, in this life for you
Is taken gradually, with everything you do
Given in installments, part of life’s deal
Working hard to get it, so it is Piecemeal
 
With only limited money, can’t afford everything
So take it day by day, to see what life will bring
We only see part of the picture at a time
It’s all we can take into our mind
 
We can only get bit by bit
And later get the rest of it
It helps us to understand all that is real
Something that is earned gradually is called Piecemeal
 
Appreciation comes with earning what we do
Hard work and sweat with pressure too
Day by day, over and over once more
To a place we’ve never been to before
 
Little by little, we make it through
With everything we say and do
It’s all we can do, it’s what we feel
When we finally get there, it was Piecemeal

We have to work hard for what we get, and we get paid gradually. Sometimes it seems like forever before we get what we fully deserve. But once we do….it feels great. We earned it, even though we got it by Piecemeal.
