Family Tears

Family Tears

© 1993 by Bud Lemire

Please help me, the family is at war

But it goes much deeper, and more

Understanding why people can't be more forgiving

Because times goes by, and people stop living

Words can't be spoken, and meanings won't carry

If you find those people, at the cemetery

Then there's a lot of hurt and pain inside

Memories of the people who have died

The past won't return, as time moves ahead

With many words, that should have been said

The words weren't spoken, and the future came

They only have themselves to blame

I hate family feuds, like I hate a toothache

Feeling like my heart is going to break

They involve people, who I love a lot

I was sure they loved me, or so I thought

Everyone has opinions, that doesn't make them right

Eyes are open, but we don't have the same sight

It's time for a heart to heart, and some handshakes

A meeting of minds, or whatever it takes

To end this family feud, and put out the fires

And tear down the fences, and open the wires

I'll start out by saying, “ I love you all”

The doors can be open, it is your call

Don't fail yourself, whatever you do

The future can be changed, it's up to you

This was a little misunderstanding among the

family. And it lasted a couple years, but finally

it was over. I think of how stupid it was, and

how much time was wasted while those who

started it, finally realized how stupid it was.
