Picture This Woman

Picture This Woman

© by Bud Lemire on July 13, 2006

I remember the first time I met you

My mother was someone you once knew

You said she was good with a smile

I sat and talked with you awhile

I was taking a picture of the Tower

You were on the bench getting a sun shower

You thought I had taken a picture of you

But you weren't even within my view

You don't need your picture taken, to see your light

And to know you struggled through life with a fight

You won the battle and came out strong

We can hear it, within your life's song

We don't need a jigsaw puzzle to enjoy your company

Just look with our eyes and it's easy for us to see

A woman with a sense of humor and who has some wit

You also enjoy avocados, just watch out for the pit

With your Walker, which doesn't slow you down

We prefer your smile, instead of your frown

Can you Picture This Woman, who has come a long way

Well I can, and maybe you know this person today

This poem is for a wonderful person who lives here at the Tower.

Note: She moved away and then passed away
