Popsicle
Toes
by Bud Lemire
I’ve got
icicle fingers, and I’ve got Popsicle toes
And something
hard and grotesque, is hanging from my nose
I’m frozen
everywhere, I even got snowball ears
The water
from my eyeballs, have turned to crystal tears
I am so
frozen, I lost feelings everywhere
The gleaming
on my head, are the icicles in my hair
I feel like a
refrigerator, that’s turned up too high
I can’t
even move a muscle, even if I try
I feel I’m
living in the ice age, although I’m really not
My brain must
have frozen, there’s so much I forgot
I need to
thaw out, I wish someone would defrost me
I have ice
cubes, where I should have water on my knee
I’m sure if
we kissed, we’d be stuck together
Maybe that
would be the best part, of this ice cold weather
Or possibly
your kiss, would melt away this ice
Now that’s
a warm thought, that would feel so nice
Maybe if you
can give me a warm hug, I wouldn’t be so chili
Even my
kidney beans are frozen, it’s too hard to pee
You must
really be hot, you’re thawing every body part
I guess it’s
to be expected, with your warm warm heart
I’m so glad
you warmed me, I’ll invite you to my igloo
I’m an
Escanaba Eskymo, I owe a warm thanks to you
It gets quite
cold here, this time of the year
How about
another warm hug, I’m so glad you are here
