Ruthie, A Kind Soul

Ruthie,
riding around on your pink motor bike
You're really
not my cousin, but you're someone I like
I knew you
back when you were on the C.B.
You've always
seemed like a kind soul to me
Some years
later, you were selling books at The Trading Post
You worked at
the place where I would visit the most
We move ahead
to the future, we meet in the park
We spend time
together, taking pictures in the dark
There by the
bridge, you throw your line in
You're
fishing, while I take my bike for a spin
Then when the
sun sets at the dock, I see you there
We're taking
some pictures, in the park everywhere
Descended
from the Rodgers, in your ancestral line
You are a
cousin, to several siblings of mine
You had a
brother Richard, who passed years ago
I remember
him, he was someone I use to know
I know you're
up in Heaven, looking down from up there
I bet you
have a great view, you can see everywhere
Reunited with
those who have passed before
A gathering
of family, on the Heavenly shore
I'll continue
taking pictures, for this I do know
You'll be
along with me, Ruthie, with the kind soul
Ruthie, it was always
nice to talk with you and share
our love for taking
pictures and talk about family.
You shall be missed
here on Earth, but I know you're
in a better place and
without the pain. Until we meet
again, thanks for your
kind presence in my life.
Dedicated to Ruth
Rodgers
