Toby:Goodbye
For Now
1998 by Bud Lemire
Toby my best
friend, we lay you to sleep
I shall
remember you, with memories I keep
Remembering
the good times, my face wears a smile
You were my
best friend, and for quite awhile
With a wag of
your tail, and the games that we played
We went well
together, what a good team we made
It won't be
the same, without you by my side
But my
feelings for you, I won't try to hide
My good
friend of many years, I hope you're okay
Up there in
Heaven, because you deserve it that way
Your
suffering is over, my special little friend
You've gone
to a "Better Place," with blessings I send
As your soul
leaves your body, you'll take a special flight
Someone will
guide you, as you move toward the Light
They'll take
good care of you, this I know is true
There will be
no more suffering, no matter what you do
No
thunderstorms, no firecrackers, in this place where you'll be
So you have
nothing to fear, I'm sure you will agree
Although you
seem quite far away, I know you are near
Intertwined
between both worlds, to those you hold dear
And with
these final words, I'm sending all of my love
To the place
where the spirits dwell, The heavenly place up above
About a
month after Toby passed, I had a dream.
In it was
Toby, he barked at me.
He was
surrounded by a white light.
He came up
to me and licked my face and I woke up.
It was his
way of saying he made it to Heaven and is okay now.
