Yes Dad, I Remember

Yes Dad, I Remember
By Bud Lemire on Dec 21, 2006

Yes Dad, I remember
Your birthday in December
The twenty first just like me
Although mine’s in January
I remember the good times, and also the bad
But it’s the good ones, that make me proud of you Dad
The trips to Marquette, to visit relatives there
And near the end, when you needed good care
I remember you sitting, in the basement on a hot day
Or working around the house, for that was your way
You’d help Mom with the washing, hanging clothes outside
And when she was nervous, you’d take her for a ride
I’m not mentioning the bad, not now and not here
Because your love for us, was always quite clear
I know you were quiet, and wished you had said and done more
But sometimes learning lessons, are what you are here for
I’m pleased that you came, and shared time with me
And I wish your spiritual journey, is the best it can be
Thank you so much, dear soul of my Dad
For the wonderful times, in my life that I had

Dad, Happy Birthday. You would have been 99 this year.

But now you are in the Spirit World and your journey brings you to many other places.

I wish you the best as you learn more lessons on your journey of the soul.
