You
Were There For Me
by Bud Lemire on May 8,
2004
How can I
ever begin to thank you
For
everything you’ve done, and would do
For taking
me, into your home
So I give
thanks in this poem
You’ve
spent years alone, in your own place
Yet you
opened your home, let me in your space
I know it
wasn’t an easy thing to do
But it was
the right thing for you
Time can move
so very fast
The present
becomes the past
I’ll
remember what you’ve done
And it’ll
warm me like the sun
When I’m
back on my feet
These
memories I’ll always keep
For you were
there for me
When no one
else could be
This is for my brother
Clyde.
He took me in, after
living alone for so long,
and helped me out when I needed it.
Thanks Clyde!!!
