Precious Is This Life

Precious Is This Life

by Bud Lemire on June 13, 2003

Precious is this life, that grows inside me

Touched with my love, of all that will be

Child of mine, I'll watch you grow

And guide you in my life, wherever you go

Your journey's begun, you have lessons to learn

But I'll be there with you, at every turn

On this road, you'll find rocks in the way

But there's sun in the distance, when your days are gray

Be honest and true, and never stray from the light

Help others to make it, in their darkest night

Work hard at what you do, and you'll do your best

The rewards in your life, is inner happiness

As you grow old, I won't be there

But I'll still be guiding you, so know that I care

I'll be waiting, until your spirit is free

When your journey of life, reunites you with me

I wrote this from a Mother's point of view.

Seeing the look on a Mother's face and all

the love she feels for her baby inspired me to write this poem.
