Aunt
Olive’s Camp
by

I remember quite vividly, Aunt Olive’s Camp
On the Dead River, Marquette county on the map
The sauna, and the water on the rocks
Making it hotter, knocked off my socks
A dip in the water, after being hot
Cooled us off nicely, every spot
I remember us kids, on the shore, on the logs
Looking among them, and I saw a blue frog
I remember the blueberry picking we would do
For blueberry pie, and we picked quite a few
And they had a dog, that bit me one night
I didn’t realize, I gave it quite a fright
How about those big tracks, seen on the way there
Painted on quite well, to give someone a scare
Then one night, some animal got into the fish pail
Ate all of the fish, didn’t even leave a tail
And Mom was bitten by a big old horsefly
John had her hooked, she sure had a cry
Oh those camp memories, with Aunt Olive and Uncle Bill
Who could forget them, I remember them still
I
remember once Aunt Mabel, Uncle Alfred, and cousin Liz were out
there.
The
rides out in the boat. And so much more.
