Death

Death

by Bud Lemire on Sept 30, 2005

I looked at Death, and laughed in her face

And found myself in some other place

I didn't know just where I could be

But then again, I didn't think it'd happen to me

Then she appeared, and I looked around

I was suspended far off the ground

I thought to myself, What is this?

Then she came real close, and gave me a kiss

The kiss of Death, ain't what it seems

It sure beats the one found in dreams

A surge of energy, was what I felt

I wondered what kind of kiss she dealt

Then she took me close, in her embrace

And there with Death, I was face to face

I knew that Death, was nothing to fear

As she held me tight, and I held her near

As she walked with me, to the other side

She showed me all, she had nothing to hide

It was then, right there, that I really knew

The link between Life and Death, that will embrace you

With Death so close, I wanted so much more

But she felt it was time, to close the door

I had a taste of Death, and she tasted fine

At the place between worlds, deep within my mind
