Disappointment
and surprise
From everyday
life they do arise
Expecting
something that isn't there
Can break you
down and cause despair
A pleasant
surprise to something great
It happens
suddenly, don't have to wait
So many times
we've built a wall
Only to watch
and see it fall
Expectations
are built too high
With hopeless
outcomes we wonder why
Just let
things happen as they will be
Don't confuse
life with fantasy
Only we
control what we make
We can give
or we can take
If you give
freely, then you are wise
Each day will
bring a pleasant surprise
If you take a
little every day
Disappointments
will always come your way
