America Once More
© by Bud Lemire on Oct 7, 2025
I'm thinking of the America of yesterday
Times when everyone had something good to say
When everyone was treated equal, as it should be
In this great land, home of the brave and the free
There was no revenge taking place
There wasn't any fear on every face
We knew what tomorrow would bring
These days, it could be almost anything
Take down the banners and flags with the ugly mug
Raise the American Flag, and even give it a hug
Let the Lady Liberty stand tall and proud
Banish from this country, that dark shroud
Let the sun shine on this great country, the USA
With all this darkness all over here, let's do away
Bring back the United States of America of yesterday
When the Presidents, used common sense in every way
Bring back this country, that was friends with everyone
Not this twisted evil, that some maniac had spun
We want a country, where the President is someone we look up to
Not a wanna be king, that should be behind bars in a zoo
Let's hold hands and stand together in this fight
To bring the United States of America, into a new light
One that'll shine even brighter than before
What's happening now, we don't want anymore
If you still believe in the President, I have a suggestion.
Time to see your psychiatrist. Do it very soon!
