The New Year Has Begun

The New Year Has Begun

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 26, 2022

The bells rang

The Angels sang

The New Year has begun

The people came

It's not the same

This New Year will be different

Like every year before

Some will bring you more

Yet each will be special

So do your best

And take a rest

You will make it through

Like in every year

There will be a tear

But also joy included

Don't look too hard

You hold the card

The ticket to your future

So have no fear

Happy New Year

Make this one the best

Happy New Year!

Heaven Opened Its Gates

Heaven Opened Its Gates

©by Bud Lemire on Dec 30, 2022

It was October 17th, 2012, when I first became hers and she became mine

We met one day in a spiritual chat room, with help from the divine

The forces of love and spirit, kept us together

The love that we shared, was one I'll always treasure

Born in Dallas, Texas was her home state

Late December, Heaven opened up its gate

She was welcomed home, by friends and family

In the place we call home, where we all will be

We never met in person, but believe me when I say

Our spirits joined together, every night and day

She was a great woman, but in a bad place

We got through our life, with a spiritual embrace

Twin Flames is what we were, never alone

On Skype we were reading, and on the phone

Distance wasn't a problem, when it came to our love

We knew we were being guided, by Angels from above

I received an email, from her last night

She was tired, going to bed, then entered the light

I felt her love later, when I went to bed

I Love You” were the last words she said

Vicki was a wonderful woman. We met on Oct 17, 2012.

We spent many nights on Skype and I would read to her.

She had a hard time breathing, and was in a place she

should never have been in. We were each other's light

in a world that brought so much darkness. We held

hands as we walked forward in time. She taught me

a lot about life and love. I showed her how to have

fun in a world that she feared, where she was. I was

happy to have brought her happiness in her dark place.

I shall always love her.

Once Again Whole

Once Again Whole

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2022

Everyone reading this, has experienced a loss

Over to the Other Side, they had to cross

It was way too soon, why did they go?”

From a baby, you watched them grow

Was it their time, to go when they did?

So they could disappear, off of the grid

One thing I do know, deep in my soul

Whatever their problems were here, they are once again whole

The love you shared with them, is embedded within

They carry it with them, when they left their skin

A soul print of all, who have touched them here

When your grief fades, they'll whisper in your ear

For you see, an eternity is what it will be

The connection you share, love is the key

Even though you think, their life had hardly begun

Time will pass quickly, you'll see them when your life is done

If you have a dream, and they stand before you

With words of comfort, please know that it's true

They've come to let you know, they're still alive

They'll be there to meet you, when you arrive

Until then, you must finish your journey here on Earth

Make every moment count, for what it is worth

Believe me when I say, I've experienced many things. I know

without any doubts that we live on in spirit, and so many

times our loved ones come to us to let us know they are still

with us, only in spirit form now. They will give us signs.

Many times we don't always see them, or feel them, or know

them. Yet, they are there, if we watch and are aware, they are

there. The love you share with them, never ends. It sometimes

becomes even stronger. Believe!

Alien Christmas

Alien Christmas

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 6, 2022

On a planet, far away in a distant place

There lived some creatures, not of the human race

They celebrated Christmas, much different there

These purple skinned Aliens, without any hair

With three fingers on each hand, and only two toes

And a dark purple knob for a nose

The gifts they give are from the inside

Of the Christmas tree, which is wide

Each gift is not physical, but made up of light

Which comes from the soul, and is very bright

They each give a part of themselves, which means so much

Into the gifts they choose, which is felt in a spiritual touch

Who is each gift for, and how will they know?

Like a magnet, it will recognize it by the soul

And that one Alien, will sense it to be right

This tree of souls, shines very bright in the night

It's not their whole soul, that is given

Only a part, which is cherished by each Alien living

It is the greatest love, to ever share

When your higher self, is aware

The gift you give, is a part of you

You celebrate this holiday, with all you do

It's an Alien Christmas, on this planet so far away

Where wishes come true, on this special holiday

A Beatles Christmas

A Beatles Christmas

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 16, 2022

Cassie loved the Beatles, she thought they were grand

Abbey Road, Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

She imagined herself, as one of the screaming girls in the crowd

She knew each song very well, and would sing them out loud

It was one Christmas, her family was gathered at night

What could Santa get her? She smiled with delight

Well, I don't have “Rubber Soul” or “Revolver” yet”

She wanted them all, so she could complete her set

It'll take time, before she had them all

She really loved John, Ringo, George, and Paul

She was so thankful, to love music like she did

She's been singing these songs, since she was a little kid

Now she is ten, and just starting out

As she sang out a verse of “Twist And Shout”

She first heard them on the radio

That's how she knew them so

Christmas Eve came, she was so excited to know

Santa was coming, with his “Ho! Ho! Ho!”

She hoped, that the Beatles music would be in his sack

She wanted it so badly, she sang out “Get Back”

On Christmas Day, the gifts from Santa were there

She stood there staring, and playing with her hair

Then she saw a wrapped gift, with her name on the top

That must have come all the way, from Santa's workshop

She opened the present, and jumped so very high

Rubber Soul,” “Revolver,” and “Let It Be” caught her eye

Yes!” she screamed so very loud

Feeling just like the girls in the crowd

Her Christmas this year, was the best it could be

For the Beatles came through, under the tree

Several days before Christmas, Santa was thinking

Listening to The Beatles, and Egg Nog he was drinking

He always liked the Beatles, and listened to them each year

He was happy to bring one little girl, some Christmas Cheer

The Power To Be

The Power To Be

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 1, 2022

I shall walk ahead

Not spend my time in bed

Tomorrow will be the sun

Because my time isn't done

I shall dance and sing

I shall fly with a wing

I shall not lay low

I will go with the flow

I shall be nature's best friend

I'll meet each morning until day's end

I shall be kind to each person I meet

I shall stand steady on my feet

With each new day

I shall always find a way

To make every day the best

And do the same for the rest

I won't falter, I won't fail

I will hammer down on each nail

I have the power to be

The very best of me

A poem for those who are struggling with everyday.

You have the strength to move ahead and be the best

you can be. Don't look at anyone else and where

they are. This is your journey, and you can go at

any pace you want to. You can be anyone you

want to be. Do it! I have faith in you.

Thanksgiving Memories

Thanksgiving Memories

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 20, 2022

I enjoyed sitting down, at Thanksgiving with family

Now I can look back, at the cherished memory

Mom, Dad, John, Terry, and me

Turkey was the best it could be

Potatoes with gravy, and dressing too

Cranberry sauce, either one will do

Lime jello with carrots and pineapple inside

Green and black olives, that were too hard to hide

There were leftovers, after a meal like this one

Turkey sandwiches to eat, was the most fun

Those were the days, I still remember

Way back then, on a cold day in November

I'm never as thankful, as remembering family on this day

At the old family home, and the games we would play

My sister Nancy came over, we'd play games for awhile

Thinking of those days, always brings me a smile

Times keep on changing, and people pass away

It's best to enjoy them, every moment of each day

When it comes to us, each day that we're living

Enjoy each year with family, and have a Happy Thanksgiving

Life changes, and time moves ahead. But the memories are

great to look back on. The smiles, the company you kept,

the food at Thanksgiving, the games we played, and that

special time in life when you had no worries at all. You

just enjoyed all the foods that your family made every

year.

I Honor You!

I Honor You!

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 12, 2022

On this day, I honor you!

The love you share, deep and true

I honor all that you are, all that you give

For sharing it with me, each day that we live

Deep in the night

Our souls take flight

Touching each other, very intense

Feeling you, with every meaning of the sense

You give it all, all that you share

I feel it all, and am quite aware

This form of love, is the best that I know

It touches me deeply, all parts of my soul

The vibrations powerful, when we become one

Is felt for a long time, after we're done

The bond that we share, is so very strong

You complete me fully, with you I belong

You're a woman, but you're more than that too

Your spiritual light, is one that I always knew

I honor your heart and soul, all the way through

My dear Twin Flame, most of all, I honor You!

Happy Birthday my Love! I hope your day is one

of the very best. Thank you for being the woman

I've come to love so very much.

The Key To The Universe

The Key To The Universe

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 12, 2022

The Key To The Universe, is knowing every day

What is needed to fulfill you, in every way

You need to know, what makes you complete

What keeps you going, every day on your feet

Everyone's key will be different, and so are we

From different angles, is how we all see

Each of us, will have a different journey to take

Different paths to go down, different choices to make

Everything will change us, and how we see things

Each choice will evolve us, with what our life brings

As we go through life, we'll learn and we'll grow

And the Universe is what, we'll come to know

What makes you happy, is a good place to start

Knowing what touches, your soul and your heart

Pleasing your body, is a human thing to do

Pleasure of the soul, defines the true you

All through our lives, we seek to fit in

When the true meaning of us, is below the skin

Use your heart as a human, but remember your soul

You are so much more, and it will help you be whole

To be all we can be and feel more complete, we have to

be happy with every choice we make. We have to be

happy with where we are in life, and who we are with.

We have to be happy with who we are. But remember,

you can change anything. You are in control of where

you go, where you will be, and who is in it. When you

are in the right place, and you are with the right person,

you will feel that complete feeling, that Universal harmony.

And you would have found, The Key To The Universe.

My Ears

My Ears

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 4, 2022

My eyes see, everything that my ears can not hear

I just wish I could hear, so there wouldn't be a tear

I'm strong, I've endured a lot, and I'll survive

I've learned through life, things I need to stay alive

My world is so quiet, I can't even hear an alarm at all

It does no good to answer the phone, when you call

Things people take for granted, I cherished every day

Now I live without sound, It's been taken away

My ears are for decoration, because now they don't work

Sounds may be for others, for me they don't lurk

Sometimes I can read lips, if their speech is plain

If they talk too fast, it is like the pouring rain

I miss the company of the spoken voice

The loss of hearing gave me no choice

I search within, to remember how you sound

It's not the same, I wish my hearing could be found

I live within the silence, with quiet as my friend

I long for the sounds, and wish this would end

I'll live in this world, but I'll keep hoping too

That I'll be able to hear again, just like you

Living in a world without sound is so very quiet

and lonely. The comfort of a friend are either in

person, or words on a screen. It's not the same.

Being in the dark you think would be great if quiet,

but it's very scary. Crossing the street by myself,

shouldn't be scary, yet it is. I fear my own company

at times. Nothing is the same, everything has changed.

Because my ears can not hear.

Feeling The Silence

Feeling The Silence

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 24, 2022

In a world we're raised, to listen to everything we hear

Comes a silence that is felt, when nothing comes to our ear

Can you imagine a world, without any kind of sound

You try your best to listen, yet it doesn't come around

Suddenly! Your hearing has disappeared

A Nightmare! Everything that you feared

Where is the music, that always made me smile

Or the birds in the trees, that use to sing awhile

My TV is on loud, but I can't hear a thing

If someone is calling, I can't hear the ring

Don't knock on my door, I don't know you're there

My hearing is gone, I hear nothing everywhere

It's a scary feeling, I feel incomplete

I'm afraid to go outside, or to cross the street

My alarm won't wake me, if I fell asleep

I'm alone in the silence, with the company I keep

I fear every moment, in this silence I am living in

So much I am going through, I don't know where to begin

I was happy with my hearing, when it was around

Now I am Feeling The Silence, because I hear no sound

When you lose your hearing after having it for a long time,

it can be very hard to find yourself in a world of silence.

All the things you heard, go silent, and you are in a completely

different world. A world without sound. It's the most difficult

feeling. You have to adjust in so many ways. It's not easy.

Halloween At Harbor Tower

Halloween At Harbor Tower

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 16, 2022

It was Halloween at the Harbor Tower, it was also Bingo night

Bingo was canceled, because something wicked was causing a fright

Bingo cards were glowing, and flying across the room

There was a crazy witch lady, riding on a broom

Where she came from, nobody really knew

On her broomstick, oh yeah, she really flew

Nobody knew what she wanted, or her demand

Only one person, was brave enough to stand

He stood there, trying to figure it all out

Then he heard his name, Earl gave him a shout

Charlie, watch out, she's coming your way!”

Charlie thought fast, he didn't want to stay

She sure knows some good tricks” Charlie said with a grin

As the people watched her, the witch did a little spin

She wasn't ugly, but she wasn't very pretty

Everyone could tell, she sure as heck was witty

Then the witch disappeared, in a cloud of smoke

A voice was heard saying “Is this some kind of joke?”

Everyone kept watching, to see if she was coming back

Kat just smiled and said, “I'm going to the Smoke Shack”

The following week Bingo returned to its normal routine,

and everyone showed up, and it was a great time for everyone.

The witch wasn't seen again. Maybe next year she will visit

West Highland.

Cousins, Connected By Heart & Soul

Cousins, Connected By Heart & Soul

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 15, 2022

Some have said, before we're born we get to choose our family

Whether you believe it or not, I know they mean the most to me

Parents, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins too

Years together, they are all there, to spend a lifetime with you

Climbing the Family Tree, is so much fun to do

Finding out how, each relative is related to you

First Cousin, Second Cousin, or maybe a Third

Which generation, now that is the word

How many times removed, can each one be

It's all part of, climbing the Family Tree

I bet there are many Cousin, that I don't know

I sure have met many, as the story will go

Some in person, and some online too

We became close friends, as some Cousins do

Growing up, Cousins were older than me

I find there are tons of them, on my Family Tree

Others are much younger, as each story goes

As you climb your Family Tree, it really grows

Branches are filled with Cousins everywhere

Why there's even one, reading this poem that I'll share

One of the biggest thrills of genealogy next to finding

out about your ancestors and who you descend from,

is finding so many Cousins who have the same interest.

Meeting them, and being in touch with them. They can

become quite close in so many ways. Friends that are

family. It's been so much fun. Thank you Cousins, for

not only for being related, but for being a friend as well.

Reflections In My Glasses

Reflections In My Glasses

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 10, 2022

Reflections in my glasses, of all places I can see

Interacting with the past, and the future yet to be

So many changes happening, as the world turns

Causing eyebrows to go up, with many concerns

I wander in my memories, of a time I use to know

I let it take me there, as I relax and watch the show

It's so very different, every time I go there

Whatever is played out, I just stop and stare

No, my memories aren't bad, I remember it quite well

With an active imagination, it's a place I like to dwell

I love the present, please don't get me wrong

No matter where I am, I listen to each song

Reflections in my glasses, is where I like to be

It takes me many places, and helps my mind to see

Clouds outside my window, slowly pass on by

As I watch a seagull flying, up in the blue sky

Everyone's perspective, is different for everyone

What we see, what we do, when the day is done

The meaning of what matters most, in the time that passes

Is what I see and what I know, from the reflections in my glasses

This poem has been going around in my head for a few days now.

I thought it was time to write it down and post it. Like a reflection,

it can take your mind anywhere. The past, somewhere you want to

be, or something you have read and imagined yourself being. The

reflections of your life, makes you who you are. It's fulfilling to be

the best you that you can be.

Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 28, 2022

I took a trip to Mackinac Island, near the end of September

With friends by my side, it was a day I'll always remember

On a Gold Star Tours bus, Senior Companions and Foster Grandparents were there

Across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and St. Ignace is where

We took the Shepler's Ferry, to the island on this day

We went by the Mackinac Bridge, raindrops all the way

I got some pictures through the windows, oh what a ride

From Lake Michigan to Lake Huron, with the Ferry as our guide

Upon docking, we were lead to a place where we would eat

Mary's Bistro, as we watched the horses trot by on Main Street

Inside I sat at a table, and there I made a new friend

Appetizers kept coming, I thought they'd never end

My friend tagged along, as we went to May's for some fudge

It rained on and off this day, and there was only horse sludge

Then we searched for the place, that would pinch our penny

It was hard to find, because the stores there were so many

We got our pennies pinched into the Mackinac Bridge, it was neat

Then my friend got sick, and she had to stay off her feet

I walked around, taking pictures of course

On every street I walked down, there was a horse

Marquette Park, outside the Fort, and a shop to buy a shirt

I had way too many shirts already, but one more couldn't hurt

It was time to catch the Ferry to St. Ignace, and head on home

I sure had a great time, but I'm glad I didn't do this alone

Some weekend in the future, on a warm summer day

I'll go back to the Island, for a day or two I'll stay

I didn't know going to Mackinac Island was on my Bucket List,

because I didn't have a Bucket. But when it was offered to go,

I had a Bucket and a List. Even though we didn't have much

time there, to do everything I wanted to, it just means I need

to go back and do some more. It's a great place to visit.

I am so glad I went!

Life Comes First

Life Comes First

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 14, 2022

Life comes first, and then the enjoyment of all things in life

You can't enjoy the special moments, battling all the strife

When things get in the way, like rocks on the road

Think about the good times, when everything flowed

When your health is deteriorating, and your only friend is fear

Enjoy every moment, of the precious time that you have here

Don't take things for granted, there's a reason for each

Before the end comes, hold out your hands and reach

Reach for the music, that you love to hear

Let it be the joy, that tantalizes your ear

Reach for the book or DVD, that takes you away

To a far away land, where you can spend every day

Visit a place, beautiful with nature's gift there

You can find it, if you look, almost anywhere

Visit with close friends, the company is great

It can put your mind, into a wondrous state

Don't let your life, slip through each finger

Moments don't last, nor does it linger

Even when you think life is at its worst

Enjoy all the things around you, because Life Comes First

Before you do anything, think about it. Choose your time

wisely. Life goes by in a blink of an eye. Be with the one

you love. Be with the one you enjoy. Enjoy nature, a place

that brings you peace and joy. Find yourself, and know

yourself. Surround yourself with close friends. True friends.

Do the things that make you the happiest. Don't worry about

the little things. Life is the big things. Don't forget to keep in

touch with family. Because that is a big part of life itself. Be

worthy of all you have become. Be proud, be true to yourself.

In time as it passes, Life Comes First. Choose life.

Rainbow Hair

Rainbow Hair

©by Bud Lemire on Sept 5, 2022

I looked at hair, many different colors were seen

Some so bright, and I saw many shades of green

As I looked, I saw on top of their head

A beautiful shade, of the color red

Purple hair, can sure look nice

The right shade” is my advice

Then there is orange, with such an appeal

Colorful hair, can almost seem so unreal

Have you ever seen someone, with hair of bright blue?

I often wonder, what color would you choose to do?

Yellow is a color, yet it reminds me of yarn

It's all in what you like, it doesn't do any harm

Ever since I've seen hair colored, and it's only fair

I always thought, I should have rainbow hair

Rainbows are lucky, I like all colors I see

It seems only natural, that it would be for me

I'd have all the colors, all across my head

Just think how I'd look, when I go to bed

It's fun to think of the colors, that could be in your hair

I think about rainbows, because they take me everywhere

As I see more people with colored hair, I asked if there is

a meaning to each color they choose. They often tell me

that it is all about what they feel like having the color.

Something new to try out to see how it looks on them.

Some shades of colors don't really look good on people.

Yet other times some look pretty good. I see a lot of

colorful people, well, at least their hair is.

Olivia

Olivia

© by Bud Lemire on Aug 8, 2022

You came from Australia, and gave so much to us

A beautiful voice and smile, which was a big plus

You starred with John in the movie “Grease”

You sang about Love, you sang about peace

You had a “Magic” touch, when you sang in “Xanadu”

You let the animal out, when you got “Physical” too

A higher voice had called the tune, with a “Twist Of Fate”

I guess what happened was, Heaven couldn't wait

I'll Bet You A Kangaroo” that you are dancing to a didgeridoo

In the Spirit World where you are, and singing a song too

You've always been an angel, “No Matter What You Do”

All your fans will be, sending their love to you

Please Mr. Please” don't play B17 any more

Olivia is now singing on a distant shore

Sam” I know who I am

Watching a Heavenly program

Olivia gave us memories, with each song

To cherish forever, and to keep us strong

Another Angel was born, when she passed away

Leaving behind a discography, of the best songs to play

From the very beginning, Olivia gave us her very best.

Her music was a pleasure to listen to. I listened to her

so often, and her songs are always on my playlist. She

gave so much to us throughout her lifetime.

Thank you Olivia!

Time Capsule

Time Capsule

© by Bud Lemire on July 28, 2022

In two hundred years or more, nobody will know me

I wonder if anyone will ask, “who was she?”

When they look at my grave

Will they rant or will they rave

Will they wonder, about the life I lead

Or ignore me, and walk by my cemetery bed

I wonder if I made a Time Capsule, and buried it somewhere

Would they be interested, or would they even care

I'm sure if a relative, was doing our family tree

And they stumbled upon me, in their genealogy

They might wonder who I could be

And want to know, a little more about me

I'd be living my life, in the spirit world at that time

They'd be living their life, and be in their prime

Do you ever walk through the Cemetery

And wonder who the people are that they bury

Some names are familiar, some are unknown

Dates of their births and deaths, are always shown

Someone put flowers, right by that stone

Even though by now, they are all bone

In Two Hundred years or more, will anyone wonder who I am

Will they look at my grave and think “who were you Ma'am?”

I often wonder, if I am the only one who walks through

the cemetery, wondering about all the people who have

passed and are buried there. Who were they? I remember

not long ago someone posting something and it said

just think, in 200 years from now, nobody will

know who you are.” I love the feeling that people

do know me. Even if not personally.

Ernie's Party Store

Ernie's Party Store

© by Bud Lemire on July 28, 2022

Long before it was a Pub, it was Party Store

I remember those days, and so much more

Ernie Bernard started the store in the late fifties, here

You could go in there for candy, cigarettes, comics, or a beer

Art Messier took over, for seventeen years he was there

I remember the buck stopped there, it was quite an affair

Among those who worked there, these I will name

There was Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Cass, and Jerry Mongrain

After Art owned it, a LaFave owned the place

Then came Hank, who took up the base

Time passed, and before long it became

An Irish Pub, but it carried Ernie's name

Ernie, the man who started it all, was my friend

I kept in touch with him, until the very end

I remember his wife Mina saying “If only Ernie could see”

They made it an Irish Pub, there's no Irish in his family tree”

The memories I have, of going in that store

Every time I bought something, and came out the door

The comics, the candy, and the cream soda too

Now it's an Irish Pub, the time really flew

I lived on North 14th Street back then. I use to go into

Ernie's Party Store many times as I grew up.

It'll be a big part of my childhood memories,

for the rest of my life. Great memories!

I honor all the workers and owners, who

kept the store going. I honor the man

who started it as well.
