A Slap In The Face

A Slap In The Face

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2021

You know that the world's, gone insane

When a passenger slaps a stewardess, on a plane

Because she refuses to wear, a seat belt or face mask

Isn't there something not right here?” is all I ask

As she's hauled away, the passengers applaud

Her! They're applauding her! Which seems very odd

She's arrested and tied up, she doesn't understand

What did she do, and why was she banned

Two years now and I have to say, stupidity deserves a slap

For not believing there's a virus, what a load of crap

People have gotten mean, and downright rude

In this world I love, they need to lose that attitude

Get with the program, or just get lost

Your ignorance has come, at quite a cost

Karen's slap, lead to her being tied

Her refusals, may have cost her a future ride

In any place you are, you follow the protocol

It's not just for some, it is for us all

You think you're being deceived, and you are a pawn

You better wise up, because now there's Omicron

After a woman named Karen refused to wear a seat belt

or her face mask, she slapped a stewardess. Two refusals

and a very stupid thing to do. Still as she is hauled away,

she doesn't understand why they are taking her away.

The passengers applaud her for standing up to the

Stewardess. Saying “Goodbye Karen.” I think I would

have taken down names and banned the passengers

from ever taking a ride on the airlines ever again.

You treat people with respect, not rude response.

I don't think very highly of rude people. It just

shows me how stupid they really are.

A Happy New Year

A Happy New Year

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 26, 2021

She stood there wondering, at the end of the year

Thinking about the next one, and what she'd have to fear

So much is happening, in the world lately

She wondered, when she would be free

She wasn't alone, in more ways than one

Others were suffering, and it wasn't any fun

Her Spirit Guide, heard her every thought and knew

It wouldn't be easy, but she'd make it through

The virus spread everywhere, and stupidity too

She wondered what, everyone was going to do

The world's problems, wasn't hers to bear

She tried her best to relax, in her recliner chair

Visions and voices, came into her head

She didn't even need, to leave her bed

You will be fine, if you follow your heart”

For you have yet, a very important part”

She saw herself happy, and a bit older in time

She knew to give up now, would be such a crime

She knew now, she would overcome any fear

In her heart and mind, it would be A Happy New Year

In this world today, it has become harder. We aren't

only struggling to stay alive, but are fighting each

other for what we feel is right. It has become a

madhouse out there in the world. Yet, somehow,

some way, we will find a way to survive this evil

virus that has taken control of our beautiful world.

Together, not apart, we can win over it. If we can

do that, then it will be A Happy New Year.

The Christmas Angel

The Christmas Angel

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 22, 2021

He stood right by the Christmas Tree

Each gift, well wrapped, several meant for me

Covid took me, there was nothing I could do

It was way too much, to have to go through

I stand beside him, in spirit I am there

I make an ornament move, because I care

I was the love of his life, and he was mine

Every night, we'd share, a small glass of wine

I just wish, I could bring a smile to his face

When he frowns, it seems so out of place

What can I do, they say time heals

But I understand, just how he feels

There's an Angel ornament, hanging on the tree

He cherishes it, because it reminds him of me

He can't move on, until he says goodbye

I couldn't live like I was, so I had to die

All of a sudden, there was a light in the Angel's eye

Tears fell from his eyes, and he continued to cry

Carolers outside the door, “White Christmas” they sang

Just down the street, the Church bells rang

He felt his heart, as it began a steady beat

He smelled perfume, it was very sweet

It was Apricot, the fragrance that she always wore

He smelled it, whenever she came in the door

He smiled and said “Merry Christmas my dear”

She came to visit him, on Christmas each year

White Christmas” was her favorite song. And it

brought him back to reality, and back to life.

He realized that she may have passed, but she

was still around him. Because love never dies.

Especially when you have such a strong bond

of love like they did. He went on to celebrate

many years of Christmas, and even remarried.

There's Still Hope

There's Still Hope

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 22, 2021

What is that swirling around me

It's something that I can not see

Oh tell me what can it be

Another virus to cause misery

It's out there, the Omicron and Delta are on the loose

Please be careful, or you'll be an unlucky goose

I wear a mask, wash my hands, and try my best

If I'm not feeling quite right, I go in for a test

Be careful, and I wish you well

A Variant can put you through hell

The worst pain ever, and you could die

So wear the mask, vaccinate, don't make me cry

Who's the fool, you're not afraid?

You get this, and you will fade!

Sure, you think it's a rumor, now that's not smart

If you were much wiser, you'd do your part

The CDC and Doctors, could tell you true

Still I wonder, what would you do

There's still hope, get the vaccine

Don't be a black thumb, be the green

As you know, a black thumb kills things,

whereas a green thumb makes things grow.

You can keep on being the fool, or you can

get the vaccine and help save lives. Would

the CDC or Doctors lead you astray? I

know they have always been after the health

and safety of you! I know they have for me.

I trust in them. When you trust the right people,

you are being wise. There is still hope. Make

the right choice and get the vaccines. Now!

Before someone you love passes.

The Salvation Army Bell

The Salvation Army Bell

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 17, 2021

The Salvation Army Bell Rings

And the little Angel sings

Can you spare a quarter, a dollar, or a dime

For those with less, so they can have a good time

The bell ringers ring, for those who are in need

Those with much less, with so many mouths to feed

When I was a kid, and I remember it well

I hung out at the place, that started that bell

I joined a boys club, and we made many things

At the Salvation Army, where the bell rings

My Mom, with her friend, worked at the Thrift Store

With NuWay Cleaners, and Junior High next door

I remember in the alley, right behind there

There use to be caterpillars, on a tree, everywhere

These days, whenever I hear the bell ring

I think of the poor, and the smiles it'll bring

The happiness it'll bring to parents, who can't make a living

Because Christmas is more special, when it's love you are giving

As I stood there at Elmer's, waiting for my ride

I had a chance to look at people, from the inside

I saw their hearts, as they stopped for the bell

Unselfish and giving, I saw their souls as well

As I stood there, across from the bell ringer. People

coming out of Elmer's were grabbing their wallets

or purses and pulling out money to give. The

Salvation Army stands for something really

great when everyone knows in their hearts

what a great thing they do for those

who can't do it for themselves.

Thank you Salvation Army & Bell Ringers!

Christmas With Timmy

Christmas With Timmy

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 11, 2021

It was suppose to be the best Christmas this year

But every smile, was followed by a tear

Covid took his Mom, she was needed in Heaven

Little Timmy, heartbroken, was only seven

His Dad was in the Hospital, and very sick

He thought him being there, would do the trick

The Doctors and Nurses, tried their very best

Daddy was going to stay there, as their permanent guest

Off he went to stay with Auntie Claire

He wondered why he ended up there

On the Ventilator, no improvements on Dad

The tears would flow, Timmy was very sad

Sometimes he got to watch, the news on TV

So many people, not wearing masks, he could see

How stupid, could these people be

If they only knew, what happened to me

He said a little prayer, before going to bed

These are the words, that went through his head

They are afraid, and excuses they do make”

Making it worse, with each move they don't take”

Timmy wondered, if there was some way

To get them to understand, with every day

Even on their death bed, they will deny”

That this virus is real, which would be a lie”

For Christmas, he opened up his gift

Something, that would give him a lift

A family portrait, that he'll always remember

Every Christmas time, every month of December

An Angel whispered “We took your Daddy today”

It's okay, he'll be better now, anyway”

Timmy held the picture, close to his heart

He knew that their love, would never be apart

Timmy was just a boy then. He grew up and gave

many lectures on the importance of believing and

doing the right thing for your health. There were

still some who didn't believe, but there were many

who were touched by what he experienced in his life.

He changed the way many people thought. But there

were still those who were Brain-Washed, which he could

not do anything about. They would have to learn the

hard way.

Listening To A Country Song

Listening To A Country Song

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 7, 2021

He's been listening to a Country song

One where everything goes wrong

He believes every word they sing

And the bad luck each one will bring

He believes each one is true

And he wonders what he can do

If his wife is having a fling

In that song that they sing

Is she really out of love with me?”

Maybe there's a song that'll hold a key”

I need to know what I can do”

Because now she is loving you”

Maybe she'll start loving him again

And be a wife, and a loving friend

I hate to think, she cheats when I'm not around”

With that cowboy who's been hanging in town”

He's living a nightmare, with each song he hears

His imaginative mind, has brought on his fears

He's got a happy marriage, and nothing's wrong

He's just been listening to a Country Song

I've been looking over titles and words to Country

songs, and so many are about cheating and leaving

and so much more. Sadness, and so much more. I

prefer a happy Country song. One that is upbeat

and makes you feel good inside. Makes you think.

And sometimes makes you want to get up and dance.

Too Hard To Ignore

Too Hard To Ignore

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 23, 2021

You know the world's at war

It's too hard to ignore

Some think it's a bluff

It's all this mutated Covid stuff

The Variants are going everywhere

The Unvaccinated, are willing to share

They turned this into a war, one we can't win

Might as well be a grenade, just pull the pin

Because of those, who were afraid of the vaccine

These Covid Variants are loose, and mutated beyond obscene

It's a war, on who will survive

We'll be lucky in ten years, if we're still alive

As the people resist, and they fight

More of our loved ones, will get it in the night

On the Ventilator, is no way to live

Get the vaccines, a few moments you can give

What's in the Covid Variants, is much worse than the vaccine

I made the better choice, there is no in between

If you have any brains at all, and value your life to this day

Then get the vaccines, or more people will be taken away

Don't let rumours, fester up inside your head

If you do, you'll be the one who's dead

Take action, get the vaccines before it's too late

The world that you love is dying, this choice can not wait

The world that you love is dying because you refuse to get

the vaccine. The Variants of Covid hit without any feelings.

They take all the people you love. Many don't survive. And

those that do, will never be the same. You refuse the vaccines,

due to fear, your rights, or you don't believe in them. Ignorant

Fools! It's plain stupidity! When any Alien force takes over the

world you love and the people you love. You fight with the heroes

(the CDC, Medical team, and those who have your welfare and best

interest in mind.....your life)

On The Front Lines

On The Front Lines

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 18, 2021

The Doctors cried

Another one died

One Nurse said “We did our very best”

But he was Positive on the test”

He thought it was a lie

So, he had to die

The question we ask, is why

Our Medical Team doesn't lie

We are on the front lines, every day

We've seen it all, in every way

They didn't believe, Covid was true

No cautions taken, it wasn't the Flu

This should never have happened at all

To see so many, who've had to fall

There's no excuse, you were told

They didn't listen, now they won't grow old

Our staff is doing double shifts, every night

So many patients, are guided to the Light

We hate to see this happen to you

Take caution please, with all you do

This means: even though you have been vaccinated

three times, you still need to wear a mask. We know

they aren't any fun to wear, believe me we know. But

by wearing it, you are protecting yourself and others.

You could be a carrier of one of the variants and think

it is just a cold or allergy, and be giving it to someone

who can't even defend their system due to low immune

or no immune. We are on the Front lines every day, and

we know what Covid is doing to people. This should not

have happened. Your source should be a True source of

information, and we are. If you could only be here and

experience seeing so many die, you would know. Believe

me, I don't cry often, but since Covid, my tears will not stop.

In Her Eyes

In Her Eyes

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 13, 2021

I saw the world in her eyes

She was a woman who was so wise

She shared her love with me

I tried to be, all I could be

She wasn't someone, that was close

I can say, she wasn't a ghost

Her spirit traveled, from a far away place

Not worlds away, more of an inner space

Her spirit and mine, became One

We had a love, warmer than the sun

We were both alive, in our distant place

We both were members, of the human race

Our spirits came together, in a loving embrace

We knew it happened, and it left no trace

It changed us forever, for we were One

We knew our love for each other, would never be done

With just one thought, we can be together

In a moment lost, in endless pleasure

Even when I sleep alone, she is by my side

And I know with her, I shall always abide

A hole in the stream of time

I am hers and she is mine

This poem is dedicated to my Twin Flame, the love

of my life. She has given me so much love over the

years. I love her completely! This is the kind of love

that can't be described in the physical form, but it so

deep and strong, and holds true forever.

A Place To Pee

A Place To Pee

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 24, 2021

Give me a place to pee

And then let me be

For if you look away

Then you can't see

What does it matter

With a weak bladder

When kidneys say go

Then you better know

Is there a restroom nearby

If not, I will cry

I need to empty soon

A fast leak like a balloon

There's got to be somewhere, that I can go

To let loose this urine, or it will blow

I need to do it so badly, to let it all out

I hope that it is soon, or I'll scream and shout

Now I can smell it, but I'm still not wet

So I'm closer to going, I'll try not to fret

If the restroom doesn't open, so that I can pee

I'll have to go quickly, behind that little tree

A little bit of humor mixed in with some truth.

As a kid, when my family went to Presque Isle,

Marquette, I had to go, and they told me to go

behind the tree. I did, and was later told as they

were laughing, that I could have picked a larger tree.

A Fish Story

A Fish Story

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 14, 2021

Enjoying fish is what life's about

Whether it be Perch, or it be Trout

Whitefish is among my favorite fish

It doesn't stay long on the dish

I have a taste for Salmon also

These are fish facts, that you should know

Walleye, doesn't do a thing for me

I tried it three times, so I let it be

There is a fish, and I say “Oh God!”

You know it's Friday, when I thank Cod

In Washington State, I had Red Snapper

I'm so glad these fish, come without a wrapper

As a kid, smelt was a favorite to eat

Memories of smelting at Wells, just can't be beat

Most of my family, liked to go fishing

Except me, I picked peas and did a lot of wishing

When Friday comes around

Buying fish is where I'm found

You know it's good for the brain

Think of all the knowledge you can gain

I love my Friday fish. The weekends are

even better when you enjoy what you eat.

The Covid War

The Covid War

©by Bud Lemire on Oct 12, 2021

You had the vaccines, and the booster too

You unmask, you're safe! But that is untrue!

Those not wearing the masks, are spreading it around

The virus keeps mutating, and the variants are found

If everyone got vaccinated, all would be fine

Yet, the rebels and the stubborn, are all out of line

While people are afraid of the virus, and living in fear

Others aren't believing, all the things that they hear

The Resisting unmasked, they say there's no such threat

While someone across town, smokes their last cigarette

The virus is spreading, mutating as it goes

Stupidity is growing, turning friends into foes

If the virus is so strong, that it gets to you there

Those without any protection, are in danger and should be aware

But they aren't listening, nor do they care

They walk around, and are unmasked everywhere

We try to talk sense into them, but they will not hear

While the variants mutant some more, and are drawing near

It's my body, you can't tell me what to do!”

Another 3,000 dead, sad news that is so true

In this Covid world today, it's hard to make the right decision.

One thing for sure, if one country isn't dying from the covid,

then they must be doing something right. So many here in

this country think they are standing up for their rights. What

they're really doing, is making things worse. If the

Doctors and Nurses, and many others are wearing masks,

then it is far from over. Sit back, put on your seat belt,

and please put your mask back on (if you value your life,

and others). Thank you.

My Name Is Covid

My Name Is Covid

© by Bud Lemire on Aug 24, 2021

My name is Covid, and I'm out to get you

Many of you don't even have a clue

I've taken lives, and I'll take even more

The variant has made me, nastier than before

For the unbelievers, I'll show you how

Without a mask or vaccine, I can get you now

I'll make your life, a living hell

With a ventilator, as a friend as well

I'll make you so sick, you'll turn more than green

What I do to humans, is really obscene

I have no mind, so don't try to think

I'll make it very hard, for you to drink

Get a vaccine, and a booster too

Then maybe, I'll go easy on you

If you neglect me, like so many do

I'll make you feel, much worse than the Flu

I'm nasty, and I know how to win

I know exactly how, to make your head spin

If you're sick, I'm the one to blame

So don't think, this is some sort of game

It's not a game. The virus is alive and it

might even infect a family member, a close

friend, or someone you know really well. You

can be stupid, and not wear a mask or get the

vaccines. Or you can be smart and wear a mask

and get the vaccines. Your fate is in the choices

you make. Mask and vaccine is the right choice.

Do it now, before it is too late.

Vaccine

Vaccine

© by Bud Lemire on Aug 3, 2021

While there are people dying

There are others who are crying

Some are still trying

Others are just lying

We don't believe in them” is what they say

While there are many living in fear, every day

Some go around, unchanged by it all

They believe, they won't be the ones to fall

If it was contained only within, it would be your choice”

But it affects everyone around you” says one voice

Taking all the precautions, may not be enough

People who have had it, had it really rough

Many have passed away, some that I knew

I'd hate to see this happen, especially to you

I'm still having long term effects from it, you see

This anxiety is stopping me, from all that I can be

They're even rewarding those, who will get the vaccine

The Covid virus is a threat, to every human being

If you prefer life over death, it's time to take action

So you can appreciate your life, with greater satisfaction

For those who haven't had the vaccine yet, it's time to

wise up. You say you don't know what they put in it?!

Well, you eat many foods, and let me tell you, you don't

know what's in it either. You get the Flu shot, and that

helps you too. There is a country where everyone was

vaccinated, and that totally eliminated the threat. With

your help being vaccinated, you will have done your

job as a citizen of this beautiful country. Oh sure, it

is your choice. But the better choice, makes you a

better and much wiser person. Be wise! Get vaccinated!

She Didn't Lose The Fight

She Didn't Lose Her Fight

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 7, 2021

They say “she lost her fight with cancer”

Did she? On the Other Side, she's now a dancer

She may have left Earth, the way that you know

In the Spirit World, she carries a bright glow

So you see, she didn't lose the fight

She is in a better place, within the light

She went through the doorway, to a much better place

Just remember this, if this should be the case

The better choices, are always the ones to take

In the places we call home, until we are Awake

Awake meaning, the soul awakening once more

As we journey, to the place we've been before

Before our life ever started, here on Earth

In the Spirit World, that happened before our birth

She didn't wear any boxing gloves, to win any fight

She left this world without pain, embraced by the light

In Heaven, there isn't any pain

You use your soul, and not your brain

She didn't lose a fight, in fact she won

Her Spiritual Journey, has only just begun

She won the fight, and the reward is the light

of Heaven. We feel she may have lost, because

we shall miss her here on Earth. But her pain

is over, and she is free of it. We should think of

a better way of saying it. “She won her fight

with cancer, and the reward is am eternal visit

to Heaven.” Now when I say that, it doesn't mean

she can't come down to visit us in her spirit form.

They do that often, for the soul connection to us

is Forever. And Love does last forever, when it is

embedded in the soul for an everlasting time.

The Homeless

The Homeless

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 4, 2021

I think about the homeless, wondering how they got that way

I'm feeling lucky to have a home, and shelter and clothing each day

When I lived in Washington, I was quite aware

On the underpass, they were sleeping there

We have homeless here, and it's really sad

The churches help them out, for that I am glad

On TV, I saw them living in boxes one time

We need to help them out, cross over that line

Give a helping hand, do our best to help them out

Doing the humane thing, is what life is all about

We have people from the border, finding jobs around here

While there are more homeless, in the USA each year

They don't have a home, food, or a place to live

It's surprising they don't get help, from a living relative

One thing that I wonder is, do they even feel loved

In a world that can be unfair, they've been pushed and shoved

Is it a choice that chooses them, or is it one they make

To be out on the street struggling, for goodness sake

I thank God for low income housing, without it I would be

Out there on the street with them, wondering how to feed me

Being homeless must be a scary thing. To have to think about

each day and wonder if there will be something to eat, a place

to stay. I am sure it is even scarier with the virus going around.

Before we even begin to help other countries, we need to help

those that are down and out right here in the good ole USA.

Don't Change The Name!

Don't Change The Name!

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 26, 2021

Don't change the name!

This isn't a game

Some stupid people are to blame

For stirring up people, as that was their aim

Just think, if we changed a name because someone got hurt

Many of our states would have to change, because of that blurt

Many of our names, were taken from elsewhere

In the hopes that we'd honor, names that we share

We use the names in honor, in all that we do

We take pride in each nationality, with all we've been through

They've become a part of us, in the lives that we are living

Don't take away the names, that to us once were given

My nickname is Bud, which refers to a potato or a rose

If you take away the names, then anything goes

I think it's wise, to keep things as they are

We've been happy and content with them, so far

When you think of changing a name, use wisdom here

We'd start and never end, to many things we hold dear

Just think about where you live, and how it got its name

By changing it to something else, it wouldn't be the same

Some very ignorant people weren't thinking when they wanted

to change the name of something. Just think if someone decided

to change Escanaba, because it is a Native American name. I am

sure the Native Americans are proud that we honor them by using

a name in their language. As does everyone else. America became

America because of the Nationalities that make up this great nation.

Be proud of your nationality and all the names that make it what it is.

No offense needs to be taken.

Behind The Old Jailhouse

Behind The Old Jailhouse

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 17, 2021

Behind the old jailhouse, is a great place to be

I look out my window, to see what I can see

Friends skipping rocks, and having a good time

Precious is the moment, and that's a great sign

Cars and trucks stopping there, to pass the time away

Taking a break, from their normal humdrum day

Walking along and looking over the wall

Into the water, being careful they don't fall

Anywhere is special, so that would be this place

Meeting with others, another friendly face

A place to stop, whether on bike or in car

You can sit, and let your mind wander far

You can see the Battleships, that are in repair

The Municipal Dock isn't far from there

You can watch the sun, as it sets

Some even bring their pets

I've been there a few times too

Met some people wandering, that I knew

You make it better, by making it your own space

That's why behind the old jailhouse, is a special place

You can make any place your own space. Just being there

in the calming of your mind, and letting the worries of your

day fade away. I find many stop by there, just for a moment,

to let their minds wander elsewhere. To get away from their

normal day.

A Country Song

A Country Song

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 7, 2021

Sing along with me to a country song

Where everything in it, goes totally wrong

I'm sitting here at a bar, drinking a beer

My baby left me, that's why I came here

My dog was shot, and now he is dead

I sprung a leak, in my water bed

Just when I thought, things couldn't get worse

I forget all the words, to the very next verse

She said I cheated on her, but that isn't true

I truly believe she went really Koo Koo

She said she saw me, making love to her best friend

I was building a scarecrow, it's an old family trend

I don't know what she saw, but I tell you true

I did nothing wrong, I just wish I knew

She said I wasn't the man, she married years ago

We never married at all! And she called me Joe!

Dang it anyway! What can I say.

She never loved me anyway!

I could shoot a hole, in my cowboy hat

Next woman I love, better have a cat

Just a little song I put together in my mind

from all the country songs I've heard. When

things go wrong, cheating, your lover leaves you,

and your dog gets shot. And so much more. Never
