Grandma's Funeral

Grandma's Funeral

© by Bud Lemire on March 22, 2018

They came to her Funeral, for the final farewell

She's gone to Heaven, after going through hell

The one person she loved, just wasn't there

She didn't realize, she was unaware

How could she know, her Grandma never died

Her soul is in a universe, that is very wide

Although in physical form, she wasn't here

If she listened closely, to the whisper in her ear

Dear sweet Granddaughter, if only you knew”

I'm with you often, the afterlife is true”

Shed those tears, that I see are falling”

The Angels guided me, and I heard them calling”

How can I make you, understand this”

So the Grandmother in spirit, gave her a kiss

She looked around, but didn't feel any fear

As she wondered about, what had happened here

It was a strong tingle, she felt it all at one time

But she knew for sure, she wasn't losing her mind

As she looked around, without even a word

I'm always with you” was what she heard

When our loved ones pass away, we miss their

physical presence. But they are always around

and know exactly what we are going through.

Their love for us never ends, just as our love for

them never ends. We have their love for an eternity,

just as they have ours.

Challenges

Challenges

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 20, 2018

Earlier this year, I was presented with a choice to make

Between the two, there was only one I could take

It was tangled up necklaces, and could I take them apart

I could have easily said no, but it was a challenging piece of art

In life, there are challenges in each day

Some may seem hard, but we always find a way

We may think we can't do it, but if only we try

We will overcome them, every day until we die

It may take some time, or willpower from within

With a little patience, I am positive you can win

Don't give up, work on it and you'll see

Like a jigsaw puzzle, one piece at a time is the key

One step at a time, and soon you will be done

You thought you couldn't do it, you fooled everyone

Because you thought you could, there was no stopping you

Your positive attitude, is what got you through

Many times in life, this is what we'll find

Something that we can't comprehend, within our mind

But with a little effort, we find out something more

The Challenges are lessons, too hard to ignore

Everyday we are faced with challenges. Some are bigger

and some are smaller, yet we still have them. We manage

to get through them all. Just when you think you can't, you

are through it and have done it. Being positive helps.

The Spit

The Spit

© by Bud Lemire on March 15, 2018

Let's do The Spit

There's nothing to it

Just move your head

And get out of bed

Cough it all up

A little is not enough

Let's see that phlegm fly

Let's see it go bye bye

When you're feeling sick

And it's all yucky and ick

Why don't you spit a gob

Have some tissue, so you're not a slob

Get it all out, so it's not there

When it's all gone, breathe the nice air

Easy it will soon be

When the thick snot is gone from thee

With head over the toilet, or a spittoon

Spit up the mess, and it will be gone soon

Just move around, let's do The Spit

It's easy if you try, there's nothing to it

Spit up all that phlegm and soon you will

feel much better.

Loretta, One Special Lady

Loretta, One Special Lady

© by Bud Lemire on March 8, 2018

I met Loretta for the first time, in 2004

I came to love her personality, but there was so much more

It was at the Harbor Tower, that it came to be

She entered my life, and became a good friend to me

Our visits were so special, some of the best

Her quality of life, was lived with so much zest

We'd gather with friends, for a game of dice

An evening of fun for us, was always nice

Every Friday, she'd have fish at my place

She loved my cooking, always a smile on her face

After we were done eating, we'd visit for awhile

She wouldn't leave without a hug, because that wasn't her style

In between our fish meals, we'd have pizza occasionally

Sometimes she would pay, sometimes it was me

As a Senior Companion, she spread her love around

Everyone loved her, wherever she was found

She started tripping, falling on her face

That's when she moved, into the Christian Park Center place

As a Senior Companion myself, I would visit her there

Every late Friday afternoon, we were quite a pair

Kings in the Corner, a card game that we'd play

I wouldn't see her again, until next week on Friday

Every moment, that we shared together

Is one I'll always remember, and I'll always treasure

Thank you Loretta! For coming into my life and

being a truly wonderful friend. You have touched

me and touched so many with your wonderful spirit.

And now you are home with your family there, and

with Monrad again. Hugs from your dear friend

on Earth.

Signals From Spirit

Signals From Spirit

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 31, 2018

Someone's messing with my TV

I wonder, who it could be

I was watching a Netflix show

And then I was on Amazon, I just don't know

I didn't even push a button on the remote

Someone was trying to get my goat

Then my Nexus started up

I think enough is really enough

When electronics go haywire

Bringing you places without your desire

Do you believe it is spirits who have come to say

yes it was me, and I was with you today”

You might believe it was an electronics glitch

I believe it was spirits, and I get a happy itch

I believe they come around to let us know

In any way that they can, to show

Have you ever had a picture appear

On your computer, of someone dear

Coincidence, or could it be

A spirit at play, that you can't see

There's an energy that spirits can use

A method that they can choose

Ever hear a song on the radio

That reminds you of someone you know

They passed away, years ago

Their presence is to say hello

Next time it happens, recall what was said

Are our loved ones, really dead?

They may have left this world. Yet from

the Spiritual Realm, are still able to send

signals to us in many ways. To let us know

their spirits live on. They want us to know

that. They may be dead as we know it, yet

alive in another way. The Spiritual Way!

Michigan's Beauty

Michigan's Beauty

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 28, 2018

Michigan's Beauty, is seen everywhere

Especially when, you're living there

Upper and Lower Peninsula, it's a beautiful scene

Water so blue, and land that is green

Sunrise to Sunset, the colors dance around

Captured by our camera, the sky and the ground

Whether above or below, the Mackinac Bridge

Summers are warm, and Winter is like a fridge

Michigan's Nature, is a sight to behold

Got to see it yourself, it won't work if you're told

Experience the beauty, firsthand

The birds and other creatures, across this great land

The scenes that change, with every season

To take in Michigan's beauty, is the very best reason

Bring along your camera, take a great shot

Sometimes the summers, can get pretty hot

Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior

Lakes of this land, the outdoors exterior

Talk a walk in Michigan, on any day

You'll see the beauty, in every way

No matter where you live in Michigan, the

beauty is amazing to see. Sunrise and sunset

on the water, lighthouses, the creatures that

live here, the sky, the weather and its changes.

The Autumn colors, the Winters snow, and so

much more. Anyone living here, can appreciate

the beauty of Michigan.

My Pinard Family

My Pinard Family

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 22, 2018

The first was Louis Pinard, in Canada so long ago

Then there's the Louis Pinard, that we all know

His parents and siblings, all were in Biddeford Maine

He came to Champion Michigan, and it's there he'd remain

With his wife Emily Cyr, three children he had

Oscar, Delia, and Louis, all called him Dad

Emily passed away, and he was all alone

Then he met Emilia, she had a family of her own

The Belangers were Tom, Exilia, and George, her first family

One married a Fish, and she was well known to me

Louis and Emilia married, and two more came along

Cordelia and Flora, were added to their life's song

Oscar married Zelpha Fontaine, Delia married Camille Lemire

Louis married Louise St. Jean, each family was dear

Cordelia married a Forgette, Alphonse was his name

Flora married Thomas Mager, and a family soon came

The great Pinard family, had many offspring

Even with genealogy, I still haven't collected everything

But what I do have, is a story I'll tell

They are my family, so I know them well

Being so deep into the Pinard genealogy lately, I needed to

write a poem about them. Thanks to all my Pinard Cousins.

I want to thank those who helped me at the beginning, Leo

Pinard, & Janice Berezay. Without their help, I would not

have even had any idea how or where to get some of the

information I did. I want to also thank everyone else who

has helped me with their family information, Judy Cabral,

The Lemire Descendants, The Mager Descendants, Maryann

Belanger, and Stark (Elmo Pinard's Grandson), and so many

others. Thank you all.
