Songs Mom Sang

Songs Mom Sang

© by Bud Lemire on March 27, 2022

As I kept busy around my apartment, a song went through my head

A song that was sung long ago, today I sang that song instead

It brought me back there, as I sang that song

I felt she was with me, singing right along

Mom sang a lot of songs, these days they mean so much

Deep are these memories, in my heart they touch

Even though the song, was popular before I came to be

The songs she sang then, mean the world to me

Her Mom taught piano lessons, and played in a band

The love for music in our family, is easy to understand

One cousin I had talked with, said she was taught to play

By my Grandmother, although this Cousin passed away

Mom loved to sing, and she'd sing every day

She loved my music, when the turntable would play

She had her favorite songs, of the records that I had

To see her smile as they played, always made me glad

I'd like to think the music, is something to hold dear

When things bring you down, it brings endless cheer

I play all the songs, that Mom used to sing

Knowing those special memories, that each one will bring

Every day is Mothers Day when you are thinking of that

special woman who gave her best to give you the best.

When I think of people who tell me their childhoods

weren't that good. I think back to my childhood, and smile.

I am so glad music was brought into my life, and I enjoyed

it. To this day, music is a big part of my life. I thank Mom

for carrying on the family tradition, so that I could as well.

In The Time Stream

In The Time Stream

© by Bud Lemire on March 24, 2022

As time moves around me, I'm called to the past

The present tags along, but it never seems to last

The future is ahead of me, so I take my time

I'm there before I know it, and I'm in my prime

It seems no matter where I am, I am always somewhere

In the time stream of my life, it can take me there

I can grab a moment, and I can live it out

Any time within my life, and without a doubt

I am just a child, guided by the light

I can see beyond the day, and fly through the night

I wander all around, never asking why

I take it as it comes, and I always try

There is never any time, that I haven't been to

I just show up anywhere, out of the blue

Time speeds up, and then it goes real slow

Yet wherever I am, time seems to flow

I have seen the future, and in a certain place

I've seen the wrinkles, all over my face

In the beginning, I've seen me as a kid

I saw everything, that I ever did

One thing about time, you can go anywhere

When you ride the Time Stream, it can take you there

When you're a master of time, it can take you anywhere.

Sort of like a song you enjoyed throughout your life.

Like a memory that you had in mind, and it took you there.

You've Won A Million Dollars

You've Won A Million Dollars

© by Bud Lemire on March 15, 2022

You've won a million dollars, you've been blessed”

Really? I find it hard to believe, is this a test?”

No, this is real, you've really been chosen to win”

I have? Wow, my face is showing a grin”

Tell me more, but I want to know why me?”

It was a random drawing, who else could it be”

What could I do with a million dollars on hand

Why you could buy tickets to see your favorite band

You could buy almost anything at all

I knew it was a scam, and wasn't going to fall

Thank you my friend, for letting me know”

As he told me more, I put on a “Play Along” show

I played along, giving nothing away

Oh My, you sure made my day”

Did you know, you're special, and this is your time”

I looked at the words, and knew this scam was a crime

I know I am special, thank you my friend”

I went up to block him, this had to end

You've won a million dollars, you've been blessed”

If the message says that, it's only a scam pest

This actually happened today, and I played along

more than what I put here. He didn't get any information

from me. And in the end, I blocked him. I knew what

he was up to, and I had my fun too.

A People About A Poem

A People About A Poem

© by Bud Lemire on March 12, 2022

I wrote a people, about a poem

Because I was away, I wasn't home

When I'm not home, where could I be

Hanging out with birds and squirrels, in a tree

I like to bike, and ride I do

On a summer day, when skies are blue

I dance upon the white clouds, up in the sky

I hang on real tight, as they pass on by

An island trip, when it's warm outside

With birds and nature, I always confide

They listen closely, from a nearby tree

And tell me it's private, just them and me

I go to the park, and take a little walk

Lock up my bike, people love to talk

I try to listen, but I hear the birds

They sing to me, I understand not their words

It's a quiet day, but it feels so great

Peaceful and tranquil, which I appreciate

And wherever I go, wherever I roam

I write a people, about a poem

Just something a little different

Wasted Moments

Wasted Moments

© by Bud Lemire on March 6, 2022

Looking back on your life, we've all wasted time

Did things unimportant, which crossed our mind

In those wasted moments, if we could go back and change

Would you do it, even though it sounds strange

In our lifetime, time passes so very fast

The moments we have, never seem to last

If we could change, those wasted moments we had

Give them more meaning, so it wouldn't be so bad

I'm talking about the time, you sat on a porch drinking beer

While your Mom sat alone, ready to leave her life here

We have all been guilty of doing this

Then we curse, because it's them that we miss

Wasted moments, they come to us each

We've all had them, what is it they teach

Should have done this, but you didn't do

Too busy with something, and it passed through

Wasted moments, is not to be confused with “Time For You”

We all need time for ourselves, to do what we do

Wasted time is doing something, when other things are a priority

When the chance is missed, and will never again be

I am not talking about the moments you take to have fun,

like watch TV, play games, enjoy nature, etc. I am

talking about the time when you should be doing

something that may never come again. If you

don't visit Mom, she will pass, and you will feel

guilty about not going to see her. Think about

the things going on in your life, and do the

things that won't make you regret not

doing them.

Journey Of A Lifetime

Journey Of A Lifetime

© by Bud Lemire on March 1, 2022

The journey of a lifetime, is to experience who you'll be

All the things you go through, all the things you'll see

Everyone will experience life, in a different way

We'll see things differently, but that will be okay

For some of us, the challenges will make us fall

Others will find no problem, climbing a wall

Still, no matter what they are, we shall survive

This is a part of life, we call it staying alive

We'll have many people, pass through our lives each day

They will come and go, and touch us in a special way

We'll learn so much from each

It'll help our lives to reach

Some will realize, our bodies make us whole

Others will know, it's nothing without the soul

Some will claim the physical, only what they can see

Others will venture beyond, where spirits tend to be

Turn the music louder, dance a little bit

Work a crossword puzzle, challenge your wit

What you experience, all you do and see

Is a journey of a lifetime, it's what holds the key

The journey of a lifetime holds so much to experience.

Everyone will experience it differently. Because we all

see things from our own viewpoints. From who we are,

we shall pick up and do things better than others. Yet,

they will do and know things more than we do. That is

their journey in their lifetime. Yes, so many people will

pass through our lives and touch us in a special way.

We can look back and smile at the memories, as we

travel down life's highway.
