A Slap In The Face

A Slap In The Face

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2021

You know that the world's, gone insane

When a passenger slaps a stewardess, on a plane

Because she refuses to wear, a seat belt or face mask

Isn't there something not right here?” is all I ask

As she's hauled away, the passengers applaud

Her! They're applauding her! Which seems very odd

She's arrested and tied up, she doesn't understand

What did she do, and why was she banned

Two years now and I have to say, stupidity deserves a slap

For not believing there's a virus, what a load of crap

People have gotten mean, and downright rude

In this world I love, they need to lose that attitude

Get with the program, or just get lost

Your ignorance has come, at quite a cost

Karen's slap, lead to her being tied

Her refusals, may have cost her a future ride

In any place you are, you follow the protocol

It's not just for some, it is for us all

You think you're being deceived, and you are a pawn

You better wise up, because now there's Omicron

After a woman named Karen refused to wear a seat belt

or her face mask, she slapped a stewardess. Two refusals

and a very stupid thing to do. Still as she is hauled away,

she doesn't understand why they are taking her away.

The passengers applaud her for standing up to the

Stewardess. Saying “Goodbye Karen.” I think I would

have taken down names and banned the passengers

from ever taking a ride on the airlines ever again.

You treat people with respect, not rude response.

I don't think very highly of rude people. It just

shows me how stupid they really are.

A Happy New Year

A Happy New Year

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 26, 2021

She stood there wondering, at the end of the year

Thinking about the next one, and what she'd have to fear

So much is happening, in the world lately

She wondered, when she would be free

She wasn't alone, in more ways than one

Others were suffering, and it wasn't any fun

Her Spirit Guide, heard her every thought and knew

It wouldn't be easy, but she'd make it through

The virus spread everywhere, and stupidity too

She wondered what, everyone was going to do

The world's problems, wasn't hers to bear

She tried her best to relax, in her recliner chair

Visions and voices, came into her head

She didn't even need, to leave her bed

You will be fine, if you follow your heart”

For you have yet, a very important part”

She saw herself happy, and a bit older in time

She knew to give up now, would be such a crime

She knew now, she would overcome any fear

In her heart and mind, it would be A Happy New Year

In this world today, it has become harder. We aren't

only struggling to stay alive, but are fighting each

other for what we feel is right. It has become a

madhouse out there in the world. Yet, somehow,

some way, we will find a way to survive this evil

virus that has taken control of our beautiful world.

Together, not apart, we can win over it. If we can

do that, then it will be A Happy New Year.

The Christmas Angel

The Christmas Angel

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 22, 2021

He stood right by the Christmas Tree

Each gift, well wrapped, several meant for me

Covid took me, there was nothing I could do

It was way too much, to have to go through

I stand beside him, in spirit I am there

I make an ornament move, because I care

I was the love of his life, and he was mine

Every night, we'd share, a small glass of wine

I just wish, I could bring a smile to his face

When he frowns, it seems so out of place

What can I do, they say time heals

But I understand, just how he feels

There's an Angel ornament, hanging on the tree

He cherishes it, because it reminds him of me

He can't move on, until he says goodbye

I couldn't live like I was, so I had to die

All of a sudden, there was a light in the Angel's eye

Tears fell from his eyes, and he continued to cry

Carolers outside the door, “White Christmas” they sang

Just down the street, the Church bells rang

He felt his heart, as it began a steady beat

He smelled perfume, it was very sweet

It was Apricot, the fragrance that she always wore

He smelled it, whenever she came in the door

He smiled and said “Merry Christmas my dear”

She came to visit him, on Christmas each year

White Christmas” was her favorite song. And it

brought him back to reality, and back to life.

He realized that she may have passed, but she

was still around him. Because love never dies.

Especially when you have such a strong bond

of love like they did. He went on to celebrate

many years of Christmas, and even remarried.

There's Still Hope

There's Still Hope

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 22, 2021

What is that swirling around me

It's something that I can not see

Oh tell me what can it be

Another virus to cause misery

It's out there, the Omicron and Delta are on the loose

Please be careful, or you'll be an unlucky goose

I wear a mask, wash my hands, and try my best

If I'm not feeling quite right, I go in for a test

Be careful, and I wish you well

A Variant can put you through hell

The worst pain ever, and you could die

So wear the mask, vaccinate, don't make me cry

Who's the fool, you're not afraid?

You get this, and you will fade!

Sure, you think it's a rumor, now that's not smart

If you were much wiser, you'd do your part

The CDC and Doctors, could tell you true

Still I wonder, what would you do

There's still hope, get the vaccine

Don't be a black thumb, be the green

As you know, a black thumb kills things,

whereas a green thumb makes things grow.

You can keep on being the fool, or you can

get the vaccine and help save lives. Would

the CDC or Doctors lead you astray? I

know they have always been after the health

and safety of you! I know they have for me.

I trust in them. When you trust the right people,

you are being wise. There is still hope. Make

the right choice and get the vaccines. Now!

Before someone you love passes.

The Salvation Army Bell

The Salvation Army Bell

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 17, 2021

The Salvation Army Bell Rings

And the little Angel sings

Can you spare a quarter, a dollar, or a dime

For those with less, so they can have a good time

The bell ringers ring, for those who are in need

Those with much less, with so many mouths to feed

When I was a kid, and I remember it well

I hung out at the place, that started that bell

I joined a boys club, and we made many things

At the Salvation Army, where the bell rings

My Mom, with her friend, worked at the Thrift Store

With NuWay Cleaners, and Junior High next door

I remember in the alley, right behind there

There use to be caterpillars, on a tree, everywhere

These days, whenever I hear the bell ring

I think of the poor, and the smiles it'll bring

The happiness it'll bring to parents, who can't make a living

Because Christmas is more special, when it's love you are giving

As I stood there at Elmer's, waiting for my ride

I had a chance to look at people, from the inside

I saw their hearts, as they stopped for the bell

Unselfish and giving, I saw their souls as well

As I stood there, across from the bell ringer. People

coming out of Elmer's were grabbing their wallets

or purses and pulling out money to give. The

Salvation Army stands for something really

great when everyone knows in their hearts

what a great thing they do for those

who can't do it for themselves.

Thank you Salvation Army & Bell Ringers!

Christmas With Timmy

Christmas With Timmy

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 11, 2021

It was suppose to be the best Christmas this year

But every smile, was followed by a tear

Covid took his Mom, she was needed in Heaven

Little Timmy, heartbroken, was only seven

His Dad was in the Hospital, and very sick

He thought him being there, would do the trick

The Doctors and Nurses, tried their very best

Daddy was going to stay there, as their permanent guest

Off he went to stay with Auntie Claire

He wondered why he ended up there

On the Ventilator, no improvements on Dad

The tears would flow, Timmy was very sad

Sometimes he got to watch, the news on TV

So many people, not wearing masks, he could see

How stupid, could these people be

If they only knew, what happened to me

He said a little prayer, before going to bed

These are the words, that went through his head

They are afraid, and excuses they do make”

Making it worse, with each move they don't take”

Timmy wondered, if there was some way

To get them to understand, with every day

Even on their death bed, they will deny”

That this virus is real, which would be a lie”

For Christmas, he opened up his gift

Something, that would give him a lift

A family portrait, that he'll always remember

Every Christmas time, every month of December

An Angel whispered “We took your Daddy today”

It's okay, he'll be better now, anyway”

Timmy held the picture, close to his heart

He knew that their love, would never be apart

Timmy was just a boy then. He grew up and gave

many lectures on the importance of believing and

doing the right thing for your health. There were

still some who didn't believe, but there were many

who were touched by what he experienced in his life.

He changed the way many people thought. But there

were still those who were Brain-Washed, which he could

not do anything about. They would have to learn the

hard way.

Listening To A Country Song

Listening To A Country Song

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 7, 2021

He's been listening to a Country song

One where everything goes wrong

He believes every word they sing

And the bad luck each one will bring

He believes each one is true

And he wonders what he can do

If his wife is having a fling

In that song that they sing

Is she really out of love with me?”

Maybe there's a song that'll hold a key”

I need to know what I can do”

Because now she is loving you”

Maybe she'll start loving him again

And be a wife, and a loving friend

I hate to think, she cheats when I'm not around”

With that cowboy who's been hanging in town”

He's living a nightmare, with each song he hears

His imaginative mind, has brought on his fears

He's got a happy marriage, and nothing's wrong

He's just been listening to a Country Song

I've been looking over titles and words to Country

songs, and so many are about cheating and leaving

and so much more. Sadness, and so much more. I

prefer a happy Country song. One that is upbeat

and makes you feel good inside. Makes you think.

And sometimes makes you want to get up and dance.
