Celebrating This Special Day

Celebrating This Special Day

by Bud Lemire on July 1, 2006

It’s somebody’s birthday today

She is gone, yet she’s here in a way

Her spirit draws near

To relieve us of our fear

If she was here to celebrate

She’d be 84 years old, on this date

We’d have cake, and ice cream

Instead she comes to me in dreams

Within my dream she wears a smile

Her presence there only lasts awhile

But the love she shares, and the love she gives

Is felt deeply by me, from where she now lives

I shall always know

That within my soul

Our bond together

I shall always treasure

Let’s celebrate this day, for our dear Mother

For there will never be anyone quite like her

I thank you Mom, for all you’ve given

Happy Birthday! From the land of the living

This Birthday wish goes out to my Mom, who passed in 2001.

Although gone to the spirit world,

she remains within our hearts and souls forevermore.
