Change,
Anyone?
by Bud Lemire on May 6,

There I was
with a five dollar bill
Walked up to
the woman standing at the till
To take the
bus home, I needed a dollar changed to one
She said
"sorry, it's computerized, and can't be done"
So I walked
across, to another store for change for me
The lady
there said "Oh No! Can't go against our policy!"
What is this
world coming to, when you can't get any change
At any store
we come to, sure seems to me pretty strange
She said
maybe I'd get change at the banks
Located
across town, I replied "Gee thanks"
So into
another store, that didn't look too bad
"Can't
do it, sorry, my boss would get too mad"
So here was a
man, who was around six feet tall
Who couldn't
give me change, at a store in the mall
Now tell me
what can I do, to get myself one buck
Seems like I
was running, out of all my luck
I decided
okay, I'd might have better luck at the Dollar Store
With a name
like that, this is what they would be good for
I got my five
ones, the store did come through
Too many
changes, but no change in a world I once knew
