Charlie

Oh Charlie,
you're a good ole guy
If you see
him, stop and say hi
Dark curly
hair that he maintains when he can
It's an honor
to know this Newberry man
I first met
him as I was riding by
He was in
front of some statues and I didn't say hi
I asked him
if he was talking to some statues there
In front of
the Library is exactly where
Then I found
out he lived right here
So several
times I'd lend him my ear
He'd share
stories of his life as I listened in
There was a
genuine kindness in his grin
At Marina
Fest 2013, Charlie's kindness showed
When he
offered to carry this woman's load
In an
elevator he met a singing duo there
He sat down
and chatted with this famous pair
He asked me
to join him for some coffee
I knew I
found a good friend in Charlie
In life as we
journey along the way
We never know
who will cross our path each day
Charlie Huntwork, Thank
you for crossing my path
