Learning About Love

Learning About Love

2001 by Bud Lemire

There came to me, a special woman, earlier this year

She was sad and lonely, and I wiped away her tears

She showed me her inner soul, and we held each other tight

I was consumed by her spirit, that shone on me so bright

Our spirits embraced, in love, as it usually does

Across the many miles, true, is what ours was

Deeper than the deepest, our love was meant to be

I was holding her, and she was holding me

We took on many challenges, we took on every test

We found out through it all, our love was the best

From words of emotions, that cut us very deep

We found our love, was strong enough to keep

But isn't that life, we're learning as we go

We learn, we love, we're living as we grow

So many roles to play, the student and the teacher

Sometimes you're the listener, sometimes you're the preacher

With her love, she brought me so much pleasure

She taught me much, in our time together

Look forward to the future, don't keep dwelling on the past

Keep thinking positive, if our love is going to last

We never gave up on each other, through it all

We held each other up, neither of us did fall

Never underestimate, a love that is so real

Keep the faith strong, expressing what you feel

For all that I have learned, I'm glad that she is here

Because the love she's shown me, I hold her very dear

I thank her for her patience, as I learned about many things

And I know that she's an Angel, because I've felt her wings
