Bill's
Song

Bill and Liz waited for
that special day to arrive
Such a joy, a baby boy,
born April 21, 1965
His name was Bill,
Escanaba born and bred
This is my view of his
song going through my head
I first met him at the
Harbor Tower, he lived on the first floor
I saw him often coming in
and out of his door
We'd say hello in passing,
not much more than that
He seemed like a good guy,
he knew where his life was at
Then there was Krystal,
she had a crush on Bill
He filled a place in her
heart, nobody else could fill
But pills made him act a
bit crazy half the time
Family and friends told
her he wasn't her kind
She fought them all for
the love that she knew
But those negative forces
were making her blue
She saw within, she felt
something there
He had a good soul, and
they were unaware
He moved out of the Tower,
to just a block away
And I saw him with his
buddy Axel, almost every day
I'd take a picture when I
saw them in the park
In the afternoon, because
I didn't take pictures in the dark
He seemed to me to be
pleasant and kind
His personality came
across of the right mind
He cared for animals at
the Shelter here
His kindness for them
earned him a good cheer
He left this world in the
blink of an eye
Ascended to Heaven, some
wonder why
I think his caring was
needed there
He's now helping dogs pass
over from everywhere
I saw the tears in
Krystal's eyes fall
He had to go when he heard
the call
But the love she gave, and
showed to Bill
Lives on forever, and
their souls are united still
Love never dies, when the
love is so strong
She's left with the gift,
of his wonderful song
In honor of my friend,
Bill Lancour
