Blue

Blue

by Bud Lemire on Jan 29, 2004

Social-able and loving, is our good friend Blue

Independent and friendly, all describes you

Sleeping on the stairs, or underneath our bed

Or purring quite strongly, and rubbing your head

With claws on my pajamas, as I try to read

Leaving marks below the skin, which makes me bleed

When I lie down, so that I can rest

You snuggle up to me, and sleep upon my chest

Drinking from the toilet, don't you lick my face

I wonder of you had that tongue, in some other place

Oh Blue, you're such a cat that we can all call friend

With the special feelings, that your presence sends

The meow sound you make, to let you out the door

And the way you act, you're purrfect and so much more

You have a personality, special and unique

And bring a special love, everyday of the week

I'll write this poem, especially for you

A striped cat I call friend, by the name of Blue
