Cemetery
Memories
© 2002 by Bud Lemire
There are
many thoughts, as we walk through the cemetery
Memories of
those now passed, that we always carry
A stone to
show that they were here, now their time is done
A lifetime of
their love, they shared with everyone
Mom and Dad
are there, Grandpa and Grandma too
And many
other relatives that I hardly knew
All have left
their bodies, to journey to the sky
Up there in
the Spirit World, as the time goes by
Flowers by
their gravestones, marks a special place
Someone has a
memory, of their loving embrace
Times that
will never be replaced, and will not return
We carry the
knowledge, of all that we did learn
We reminisce,
with those who remember too
On how their
presence here, has effected you
We share good
times, and times through the years
And wipe away
the sadness, of all the many tears
As I walk
through the Cemetery, and look at all the stones
There's much
more that is left behind, than just some old bones
For they had
given life to us, and shared theirs with us too
Their love
will be here forever, to always help us through
I wrote this poem not
long after my Mom had passed.
I was living across
from the Lakeview Cemetery.
Often I would think of
those who have passed,
and how they have
touched us. The memories of our
time together will
always hold a special place in my memory.
