January In December

January In December
By Bud Lemire on Dec 31, 2004

It was January in December
A day I’ll always remember
A card and letter came to me
From someone in my family tree

Her Great Grandmother was a sister to my Grandfather
Pauline said the genealogist was Cherie, her daughter
So I looked on the net and found her number
As thoughts filled my head with wonder

It was a rainy day here for us all
But the sun was shining when I called
Her husband Don picked up the phone
And I could tell there was a happy tone

We confirmed information we both had
And I had a little data that I could add
She asked if there was anything she could do
I replied “yes, family groups leading down to you”

What she wanted was to see pictures of the family
So I told her she could leave that up to me
We ended our conversation on a happy note
I felt so happy, I reread the letter she wrote
It’s times like this that are happy to remember
When touches of January come in December

Pauline and Cherie BOWER’s ancestor Marie Louise Janviere

(French for January) LEMIRE

is the sister to my Grandfather Camille LEMIRE
