Journey To BC

Journey To BC

by Bud Lemire on March 25, 2003

It was March 21st 2003, when we journeyed to BC

There were some cousins, that we wanted to see

We had little difficulty, crossing the border at Blaine

Waiting on the other side, was Bev, Dot, and Elaine

We followed them to the bank, to exchange money there

Then to cousin Kim's, she had a bedroom she could spare

We browsed through the Thrift stores, and then to the Mall

Looking through the Dollar store, things packed wall to wall

Returned and met Bev's husband Garry, who's character is like Don Rickles

He cooked us up some hamburgers, which we ate with some pickles

After looking at some pictures, and chatting awhile more

It was time to get some sleep, for what tomorrow had in store

We were up and ate breakfast, and off to catch the SkyTrain

The weather wasn't too bad, it was on and off rain

A computer operated SkyTrain, like a subway in the sky

Looking down upon the cities, and all that caught our eye

Our destination was Vancouver, we jumped off without a fuss

Then we crossed the water, in something called a SeaBus

And on the waterfront, we looked in every shop

Taking our lunch at McDonald's, it was a peaceful stop

Then back upon the SeaBus, the SkyTrain, and Kim's once more

Passing time found us dipping veggies, and sharing family lore

Drawing pictures, laughing, and telling stories as well

Time that was enjoyed, with cousins Bev and Elaine Bell

The next day found us, on passing donuts all around

On the road to the Great Flea Market, is where we were found

Inside the buildings, I found many books to read

After we looked through everything, it was time to leave

Our next destination, was to the area called White Rock

This was the beach area, where Elaine liked to walk

This is where we parted, with hugs for everyone

Time sure went fast, when we all were having fun

Back home again, safe is where we'll be

Happy for our time, and our Journey To BC
