Nothing Lasts Forever

Nothing Lasts Forever

by Bud Lemire on Jan 29, 2004

Nobody knows what to expect when they are close to death

Only that the time has come after their final breath

Whether they just die and they cease to be

Or if they go to Heaven...remains a mystery

These are the questions that many seem to ask

Because our human life never seems to last

Everyday we live, and everyday we age

Chapters of a lifetime until the final page

Nothing lasts forever, everything must end

Like our mortal bodies, in our life we spend

Wrinkles on our faces, wrinkles lost in time

Until we find time passed, with some other sign

Precious are the moments that you walk this earth

Ending with our final breath that started with our birth

Send your loving spirit, touching everyone you meet

Share a friendly voice, with tender words you speak

Make a difference, by touching someone near

Smile and spread your warmth, wipe away someone's tears

Nothing Lasts Forever, as you travel the time stream

Peaceful sleep will come, then you'll start another dream
