Transcendent

Transcendent

by Bud Lemire on Dec 16, 2004

Last thing I remember, was being surrounded by my family

Then everything went dark, I didn't know where I could be

They said I didn't have long, for it had spread

I was told in moments, I would soon be dead

Believe me when I tell you, it was a surprise

When all of a sudden, I opened my eyes

I found I wasn't lying, in the Hospital bed

But was alert and aware, so how could I be dead

Off in the distance, I seemed to see a light

So I went towards it, to rid myself of night

There were many people, after I passed through

People I've not seen in ages, all people that I knew

Aunts, Uncles, Grandma and Grandpa, and cousins by the score

Mom, Dad, and pets I've had, and there was so much more

It was a reunion, unlike any I've ever had

I was embraced by all, after Mom and Dad

Well here was my proof, I needed while on Earth

Now I finally understand, the origin of my birth

I had come to be alive, so that I could learn

And when it was completed, I'd take my leave in turn

I always believed you were just dead when you died

Never had any proof in the existence of the other side

Now I have my proof, and I was wrong

Now I truly know, I'm where I belong

I actually wrote this through the eyes of someone

who doesn't believe who doesn't believe in life after death
