Two
Deer Day
by Bud Lemire on Aug 8,

It was a Two
Deer Day
When a buck
and doe passed this way
Out the front
window I did see
Two deer
trotting, across the road from me
They moved
along carefree, and at a trot
Maybe never
even considering, getting caught
Neighborhood
cats gazed at them, with their cat eyes
Wondering how
these animals, got to be their size
They were
probably looking, for a place to eat
Something to
fill their bellies, and make them feel complete
It was early
in the morning, so people seen was rare
They didn't
see me, as I took in the glare
I've seen
deers in the distance, but nothing of this kind
Of the buck
and doe, searching for food they could find
I know for
sure of one thing, I would like to share
I'd rather
have a Two Deer Day, than run into a bear
This happened one morning while I lived in Montesano, Washington
