When We
Pray
by Bud Lemire on May 3,
2003
I remember
one time, at a low point in my life
That I prayed
to God, to bring a mate, a wife
It seems that
God does listen, to every word I say
And knows all
that are sent, in the messages when we pray
I remember a
time, when I asked to leave a place
Lost and
alone, with much I could not face
I prayed
quite often, for changes to come around
And found
myself on a bus, I was Canadian bound
When I
returned, I found that it came true
Taken was the
life, the one I always knew
I prayed some
time ago, to help me know what to do
So awakened
was my spirit, so I'd know all that was true
How could I
survive, I could hardly stand alone
And the
answer came, with the ringing of the phone
It was a
special friend, who lived so far away
And she came
into my life, and there she would stay
She came to
show me, that life could be much more
If we
remember to look, behind each unopened door
She came to
tell me, of a message from above
That she'd
stand beside me, because she was in love
I have never
felt so complete, and happy in this way
And know our
words are heard, in messages, When We Pray
This came to me one morning and I couldn't get back to sleep until I wrote it down.
