Life Is A Gift

Life is a gift that’s is given to us
Because of the love…in God we trust
He gave us his light to spread it around
Share it with others wherever they’re found
 
He gave us our own choices, what we choose to be
And let us decide the way we should see
He gave us freedom to believe as we do
From our life’s experiences for what we thought true
 
He gave us the knowledge to carry us through
A way of understanding all things that are new
He surrounded us with people so we could have friends
Those who are caring until our life ends
 
He gave us all creatures so we would know
No matter our ways, we each have a soul
Whether we have claws, or we have wings
To always do our best in whatever life brings
 
He gave us the light so we could shine
So we’d believe in the strength of the divine
Our spirit inside is mighty and strong
Through our life’s journey we should do no wrong
Though our bodies grow frail and withers in time
The spirit within goes on and will always shine

Life is a gift and we should appreciate all that is given to us, all we have earned, all that is presented to us. Sometimes the beauty of the soul is right before us, yet we don’t see it. We must be open to seeing all…and feeling all. For that is truly where the gift is.
