Morning Crisis

by Bud Lemire on Oct 4, 2007

Helpless to rise, she's given a nudge
She opens one eye, but can barely budge
"Oh please not again, just let me stay"
"Oh Mother, let me sleep, please go away"

She rolls over, to go back to sleep
Another nudge comes, and also a beep
She decides is is time, for her to get up
I don't want it harder, enough is enough

"Oh what should I wear, what feels good on me?"
"What will others say, when they look and they see?"
"I guess I'll try each, and see what I'll wear"
"Now if I knew, what to do with my hair"

Her Mother looks in, to see if she's ready or not
"I guess I should be thankful, for what I've got"
So she gets ready and sits and watches TV
"I wonder what this day, holds for me"
