What Are They?

By Bud Lemire on Feb 25, 2009

They come out in the darkness, when you are asleep
Around the corner, and quickly do they creep
When the light comes on, they disappear
They don’t like it, when you come near

They’re so fast, you imagine that they’re there
But you can find them, almost everywhere
They come around food, so keep your place clean
Even if it’s spotless, they still can be seen

It seems no matter where you live, there is a pest
Even when you clean your place, the very best
The best way to deal with them, is to always know
All the places these little creatures will go

What draws them somewhere, I wish I knew
And if there’s just one, do they let others know too
Maybe a radar is sent and the others come around
Under the door marching, without making a sound

Dim the lights and sneak up to see
Where they are, where they can be
Maybe you’ll see many, maybe just a few
If you are smart, you’ll know what to do

If you can guess what these little creatures are…..you will have guessed the title of this poem. I left it out so you could guess what it was.
