Song Of Hope

Song Of Hope

2003 by Bud Lemire

Here I write, this song of hope

For all my friends, who find it hard to cope

With life as they know it, wherever they live

These are encouraging words, I'd like to give

To those who carry, so much doubt

Who can't even smile, but only to shout

Don't cry and pout, and keep it all in

It's time to move ahead, this is where you begin

I'll throw you a rope, climb out of that hole

Mend the pain in your heart, replenish your soul

There is so much out there, waiting for you

You'll be glad that you did it, I know it is true

Don't let your company, be your only friend

Socialize with others, with good feelings to send

Go out in the world, be proud of your name

Don't wallow and weep, in the black hole game

You were given the power, to be all you can be

Stand up and be counted, set yourself free

So what will you do, sleep all day and all night

Or wake up and smile, and put up a fight

Your spirit was placed here, so that it could fly

So let it on out, and just give it a try

I know you can do it, so here is your rope

Climb out of the darkness, with this Song Of Hope
